Man with "I Eat A**" bumper sticker charged with possession of obscene material

No, but I’ve kicked some truck nuts on a parked truck while walking past.

Disappointingly, the truck didn’t emit a high-pitched honk and fold up into a Hyundai.

Ah, but the officer was apparently specific that the letter had to come out of his ass.

I have to admit, if I saw that I’d think YOU were now the weirdo

My Mom physically assaulted the Principal because she took offense his judgemental nonsense.

Well, I’m sure that helped everybody concerned.

The Principal quit harassing me, so yes.

Your assessment would be correct, sir!

Just can’t get away from the truck nuts on this thread, can we?

Europeans ban obscenity too.

A woman in Poland is going to prison for “offending religious feelings” which is the most absolute special snowflake bullshit excuse for a crime I think I can come up with.

If your god is so pathetically weak that they can’t handle someone making fun of him, or even just not taking them seriously then you are lowering yourself below worms for worshiping the not-even-pitiable excuse for a deity. At least worms serve a function.

I have a problem with your choice to have children impacting my ability to express myself to other adults.

That kid’s education and rearing is your responsibility. Not mine. And while I will absolutely do my best to speak to your kids civilly, I don’t think you can expect the whole public world to be safe for kids.

I mean, how is “I Eat Ass” (a statement by someone of what they’re willing to do for another) any worse than, say a Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition cover specifically designed to make a woman look like a sex object? Because those are right there at toddler eye-level in the supermarket checkout where I live.

I think you might be mistaking your own effort answering a question with questionable morality.

That wasn’t my point and I never claimed the opposite.

I don’t know why you are addressing me with your god/worms tirade. Perhaps raise this issue in the appropriate thread?

I have no problem you expressing yourself to other adults.

But when one is in PUBLIC, it isn’t just adults unless you are at specific location that only has adults (eg a bar) but even then you’re in public getting to there. Of course public isn’t child proof; I made no suggestion is was nor should be.

The first point is just establishing there is a level of politeness while in public. Maybe “I eat ass” doesn’t trigger your tipping point of being inappropriate. Honestly, it doesn’t really tip mine to the point of me being upset about it, but it does tip it enough I wouldn’t actually put that on my car or wear a shirt with it. But even if that isn’t the tipping point for you, you most likely DO have a tipping point where one will go, “Well, that’s inappropriate.” (And note - again - repeated said the guy shouldn’t get a ticket for it or anything.)

Or not. Some people have no fucks given and would be fine if we all ran around naked waving Confederate flags and screaming dirty limericks. Cool, cool. I’ve seen them at Disney World where they make grown ass adults cover up tattoos or turn shirts inside out.

But the main point, and relates directly to the portion you quoted, is that just because this offends or upsets someone, doesn’t necessarily mean they are “mindless bible thumping conservatives.” Nearly all of us have a tipping point on what one finds offense or inappropriate. Just because MY level and HER level and HIS level are different, doesn’t mean anyone is WRONG, just that we are DIFFERENT and have different sensibilities. It doesn’t make one a “mindless conservative” any more than it makes one a “snowflake” or a “cuck”.

Just encouraging some mutual respect among people.

Sounds like you believe white supremacists don’t have the right to wear t-shirts with their symbols and/or statements on them in public.

Or is ‘offensive to children’ only about sexuality?

 Are you intentionally confusing my point between “rights” and what people find “appropriate”? Everyone has a right to wear what they want. You still might get dirty looks depending on what it is.

Some people are going to take offense/exception/find inappropriate different things. For some that might be an “I EAT ASS” sticker on a truck, for others it’s a Confederate flag on a truck. I think we can all agree a Patriots team sticker on a truck is disgusting.

But yeah, RIGHTS wise, go fucking crazy, if the shoe fits.
