But in all seriousness, how do they know this wasn’t just an open relationship situation? If her husband was cool with it, then it’s not really “cheating.” I’m not saying that I know for a fact that her husband was cool with it, but the whole “polyamorous tantric sex guru” part, not to mention the “openly” part, makes me wonder.

Yeah, I find public service an admirable trait, no matter how you got to it. Of course, in the case of these two it’s not about serving the public, but about serving themselves while harming the public in as many ways as they can imagine because of delusional conspiracies they’ve both engaged in.
As for the story: I think we should all celebrate her exploring her sexuality and enjoying herself, other than the whole possible cheating part of it (but we don’t know yet if that’s true). Sure, she’s a hypocrite like all the other members of the party of “family values” have been. Newt, who cheated on two sick wives and left them both for another woman. Trump, who cheated on three wives now and counting. And endless parade of religious figures caught with their pants down in a variety of sexual situations. This is no surprise at all.
I absolutely don’t condemn them for their sexuality. If we were open about it, if we were true, we’d admit that humanity is a sexual species. We won’t shame them for that. We ask the same in return.
But they won’t give it in return.
We WILL shame them for being the ones who try to make sex and sexuality a great evil and a crime, even as they go about exploring it quietly in dark rooms when they think no one else can see. That balls deep level of hypocrisy must be shown the light of day every fucking day we can. It won’t change the mind of their voters. Absolutely WILL NOT CHANGE MINDS. But I will throw it back in their faces every chance I get as I advocate for sex education, the right of sex workers, etc.
