given the fact she said people with the wrong values won’t be able to vote, she’s most definitely not talking about democracy.
that’s why she’s advocating for secession, and why people in oregon want to steal public land and transfer it to idaho: they only want the right people to vote
some republicans have pointed out they can’t win if everyone votes. hence voter suppression, gerrymandering, and pushing back against allowing people in dc, puerto rico, etc to have their own representation
yup, and then they’d start grabbing land, factories, and farms from the states on their border. it wouldn’t stop until they had control over all the states and territories. and maybe not even then
not to harp on the last part again, but wow. at least she’s finally acknowledging that they are real values. she obviously doesn’t have any.

It was clear he support secession, because he resigned his commission and led the confederate army. That’s the action that matters, not whatever wavering he might have done prior to the war.
He was a violent enslaver. Full stop.
At the end of the day, he supported slavery, and all the brutality that entailed.
Do we have to be living in the smoking ruins of another civil war for people to believe that this could be a thing that people like MTG want? Is that what it actually takes?

At this point, anyone who does not recognize the reality of the fascist desire to disenfranchise, disempower and eventually eliminate any group they deem less-than is giving aid and comfort to the enemy. Yes, they really do want this, yes, it is really happening, yes, they know where it will lead and they like that! Don’t lessen the threat to “it’s just a joke” because it is absolutely not. They will come for anyone who is not 100% in their corner. Believe it.

It’s a tempting fantasy to just scream at people like MTG “You want to go? Fine, get out!” I mean, after all, we’d finally be rid of them, right? Right? Yeah, not so much. They won’t go away that easily. Even if the “divorce” was amicable, and it wouldn’t be, they sure as hell wouldn’t stop there. If nothing else, the red states would figure out very quickly that they completely lack the economics to stay afloat and hey, would you look at that, there’s that country they just left unfairly keeping all the economy to itself …
That’s even assume there is such a thing as a red or blue state – there isn’t, of course.
I’m not even starting on the horrors that would be inflicted on those (who’re already being targeted) trapped behind the lines.
