Situations like this aren’t awkward to a narcissist. I’d expect the reaction to be something like, “damn right, you’ll help with Harvey! And then you’ll build that wall.”

It’s a rare win/win scenario; they’re doing the right, humane thing, and making 45 look even worse in the process.
That may indeed be their actual motivation, and if so, that’s great.
That their humanitarianism paints 45 in a terrible light by comparison is the icing on the cake.
