So - it worked out pretty well for them then?
Ban the AR-15 yesterday. That is not radical. It’s sensible.
I accept all kinds of restrictions on my rights in the name of public safety. I don’t enjoy waiting in line at the DMV but it sure beats living in a society where any unqualified jackass can operate any motor vehicle on public roads.
…sure, someone could make their own AR-15, just like I could make my own yogurt. People aren’t doing that yet (please name a shooting where the guns were hand-made), and even if they were, there would still be fewer guns than are currently available–not everyone has the space for a cutter or CNC mill.
It saddens me that anyone describes that as a patriotic shirt.
If my beloved hobby was putting on a blindfold and throwing beakers of sulfuric acid in random directions, yeah, I’d let it go.
I’m getting a lot of mileage on this one lately:
o_0… nothing wrong with possessing sulfuric acid if handled properly. Throwing it at people random or otherwise I don’t condone and is illegal.
It’s so ironic because you just did that…
I knew a guy who milled out a lower with a drill and a chisel. It’s a mindset.
Where did I commit ad hominem?
It’s always “too soon” to talk about gun control.
It’s never too soon to begin the victim blaming.
How many AR-15 do you think that dude could manufacture in a year?
Theresa May may be a lot of things, but she’s hardly Immortan Joe. So no, gun control does not lead to Immortan Joe.
You’re right. Sulfuric acid has several primary uses that don’t involve killing or injuring people. My bad.
When you suggested to @KathyPartdeux:
Clearly you are willing to give up this freedom you aren’t using. But when I suggest giving something up you are using, are you going to let it go just in the interest of public safety as well?
And thank you for tacitly admitting to the other fallacies. It’s refreshing to see that.
Just to get ahead of things, here’s the new talking point I’m hearing from the NRA-parrots:
“We need to hire military veterans to act as armed guards at every school in America!”
I have four letters for you: PTSD.
