Neighbor accused of stealing skeleton in window with middle finger raised offensively

‘The skeleton has not been located.’

The gentleman with the skeleton in the window is accused of harassing teen girls in the neighborhood, and sometimes he “sets off a propane cannon, typically used by farmers to scare birds from their fields,” Ms. Hogrebe added.

The dude also plays loud music late at night.

So this was, ironically, the least offensive thing he was doing. I guess that’s how these things work - the insult added to injury is what gets people upset.

I’ve had multiple neighbors like that. They’re almost unfailingly young to middle-aged white manbabies presumably raised by indulgent wolves.

“I just, you know, had it,” Hogrebe said.

I know, adulting is hard.

As a lupine manbaby I can assure you that my taste in gabber is classy and far more cultured than your Neil Diamond collection.

Street View doesn’t cover their block, but you can look down it from the nearest intersection. Real cozy looking. You could worry about the rusting playground equipment, unpaved road, or dead yard-cars, but clearly skeletons are the pressing concern.

If you don’t want your skeletons stolen, keep them in the closet.

Really though, What else could she have done? I mean, a skeleton, the finger and a history of being an asshole. Ignore him?

Sounds like a neighbor with a bone to pick.

So, like this but with a skeleton?

Small enough place, sounds like with this a-hole neighbor, if one middle finger wielding skeleton was mysteriously joined by another, and the owner of the home “moved away”, that the local people and police may not be all that concerned…

There’s 421 people there as of the last census, with a population density of just over 1 person per square mile.

That’s not humerus.

(ETA but maybe a bit rib-tickling)

It is very scary to be a woman in a desolate rural area like that. You’ve got someone who clearly doesn’t care how many laws he breaks, nor how many of his neighbors are victims of his actions.

I’d like to think the way I’d crack wouldn’t be to steal the skeleton, but honestly, the fact that she didn’t go over there with a shotgun shows a lot of self control.

What have I done when dealing with dangerous/scary/lawbreaking neighbors? I’ve incurred the costs and work of moving away, several times in my life now. Easier to do in a big city.

I’m not sure we should place too much trust in the testimony of a skeleton thief.

Coulda been worse, someone could have stolen your actual skeleton, and you wake up a pile of blobby quivering flesh.

Or it was the one thing they felt that they could control or change.

This is in northern NM, and very close to reservation territory and all the problems that come with it. (Casinos, booze, lack of social services, misery, suicide, etc.)

My sympathies are with the woman who has a shit neighbor to deal with.

Yeah, it was the one ongoing, easily solvable, offense.
