That’s way too low, of course, but sounds like a pretty good “start”. How much more 1/6 commission do we have coming?

Good, but as with everything 60% of Americans want it will be blocked by GOP politicians pandering to 25% of Americans in a foolish attempt to preserve the wealth of 1% of Americans.

Foolish? I dunno, it seems to be working out the the politicians doing it so far. I think evil, duplicitous, transparent, or immoral might work better…

And thanks to the @#$! electoral college many (most?) of those 25% have over three times the vote consideration as compared to the majority of American national election voters. Is it any wonder that the republicans hang onto the horrid anachronistic slave-owner supporting electoral college like grim death?

Something tells me Fox News will not report this

How about impaled or burned at the stake?

99%?

We need to get more than JUST a criminal conviction.
Why?
We get it. Great.
Now, what stops DiSantis or something worse?

The threat of the same or something worse?

So far. However, conservatives who pander to fascists thinking that they can control them is a very risky game.

A death-cult Senate candidate just declared open season on RINOs. It’s only a matter of time before a stochastic terrorist follows up on that invitation.

Trump was incapable of even personally following through with his own plans—“and I’ll be there with you”—but the next guy might be more competent

He didn’t follow up on his own words, which is the standard plan for any grifter. Greitens works the same way: incite the suckers to do your dirty work and then pretend you had nothing to do with it.

I imagine Trump growling “You have failed me for the last time!” and trying to force-choke himself in a mirror—of course, nothing happens

Trump shoop needs more stigmata. Real life too.

It would be bitterly ironic if that happened to be the moment the massive coronary finally caught up to him, and he got to die thinking he actually did something right.

We are trapped in minority rule, overshadowed by a 6-3 conservative majority Supreme Court. The GOP long game has played out beyond their wildest dreams. Gerrymandering, the gutting of the Voting Rights act, Citizens United, and unmoderated social media has given us the likes of Jim Jordan, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Boebert, and my old rep, Madison Cawthorn. If Trump is allowed to run again, we are well and truly fucked. The SCOTUS majority believe in a state’s right to ignore electors that reflect the popular vote and will support those states when they submit “alternate electors”. The Texas GOP just adopted a platform that includes a declaration that Joe Biden is not the legitimate president.

I’m wondering is this it? Is this the peak of human evolution - fascism and fossil fuels? Is this the best we can do? I believe we can do better. I have a hard time believing how hard the struggle will be.

Humans might do better, Americans possibly not. But hey- Joseph Swan failed to invent the light bulb lots of times before Edison stole his idea and made it workable.

The division along party lines of those numbers really tells the story. 91% of Democrats want him charged, but 19% of Republicans. Those are very strong numbers both ways.

I think this poll says more about the tribal divisions in the US than anything else. It also says that most of the country by population are Democrats, which makes the state of the political system pretty tragic.
