New poll shows 64% of Democrats don't want Biden to run in 2024

I’d say the same for Abrams

I’m just spitballing names of Dems who I think have demonstrated some intelligence and leadership. My intention was not to discount Abrams, AOC or anyone else, nor was it an endorsement.

I really don’t know enough about GA to opine in their situation. I get the impression shit isn’t quite as desperate, that GA is a lot less red and less voter suppressed than Texas right now.

But in Tx, if O’Rourke resigns after 2 years of governorship, including taking time away from the job to campaign, it will seriously set the state’s movement towards purple back. Not because O’Rourke is so fantastic, he’s not (but getting better) but because the first dem governor in way too long would have ditched the state, leaving the Lt. Gov. in charge. It’s going to be a tight election and if O’Rourke wins, he needs to stay and fulfill his obligations. His leaving could tank Dem chances for the next election. We desperately need a gov who will fight for us, not another one who is gov only so they can try for POTUS.

It’s also very possible we’d still have Dan Patrick as Lt. Gov. We don’t have straight ticket voting anymore. The displeasure ppl have for Abbott doesn’t seem to extend to Patrick and Patrick is arguably even worse then Abbott.

Finally, O’Rourke is really not as far left as I really want our next president to be. He’s left for Texas. Also, Abrams would, IMHO, make a far better president or VP. As we saw with O’Rourke’s previous campaign for president, he isn’t ready.
