What’s kind of funny is that he’s made the same mistake with polling that he did with poker. I read one of his books years ago, I think after the 2008 or 2012 election. Whenever he was at his zenith. And he talked in there about playing online poker, and initially having great success, and letting that early success make him believe he was a much better poker player than he actually was, and how he then suffered a series of big losses and got brought down to Earth. And this experience supposedly is what led him to studying polling of the time and how inadequate it was. And it was, but he then made the same mistake he made with poker. He had early success with his aggregation algorithms, and then decided he had this shit figured out. When really, he was no better than any of the polls that went into his algorithms. Garbage in, garbage out still applies.

It’s an endless circle jerk of nonsense to fatten up the wallets of investors… meanwhile, the few outlets of actual integrity that try and cover what’s happening in the world get constantly drowned out by all the shit out there…
