Kudlow is apparently trying to clarify/double down on his statement that COVID-19 is “contained” in the US, despite ongoing reports of new cases in new states basically every day.

Free market absolutists will get us all killed.

I can’t figure out how the roof is standing in that structure.

Perhaps some sort of Purell based paper mache

It’s now confirmed in Indianapolis, IN.

How many states are still (supposedly) free of covid-19?

Yeah, especially in the NoVaDCMd area. Tourist season is a just about to kick off with the Cherry Blossom Festival where millions of people are expected each year.

I am very surprised we haven’t seen anything yet around these parts.

On my walk home from campus today (I’m still in Oslo) I saw two cases of students greeting one another with hugs. Made me cringe. OTOH, on the subways people are creeping away from one another.

Meanwhile, this was in this afternoon’s news here:

(OK, bad translation: they’re against handshaking, not handwaving. Handwaving is still OK, possibly even hand shaking if you’re dancing 50s style and not touching your partner.)

At the local hospital they’re trying to popularize an alternative greeting, hand over the heart (like the Roman salute, but open-hand). Surely there is something better in some episode of Star Trek.
