Ugh. I’ve had this happen more than once. It’s like, step the F back, people.
The grocery stores around here are pretty on the ball. Employees and most patrons are wearing masks, aisles are one way (you can see some of the signs in my picture), checkout lines have markers telling where you should stand, and carts and baskets are sanitized after every use.
Not that this stops people from ignoring the signs and markers, or from congregating in the aisles - but it’s at least something.

This kind of thing sounds good but it has the effect of cutting the number of paths across the store in half, offering us fewer choices with which to avoid each other
In my neighborhood people are pretty good about staying six feet apart but we mostly ignore the arrows

It seems to be good in theory - by making sure traffic flows in one direction people aren’t getting close trying to pass one another in opposite directions. On the other hand my trips to the store are taking much longer now because I’m trying to follow the rules. Most don’t bother.
