WIKI: The legend holds that … Hunters who have attempted to catch squonks have found that the creature is capable of evading capture by dissolving completely into a pool of tears and bubbles when cornered.

I was mainly thinking of Douglas Adams. Dirty telephone => Dirty television.

Please stay in your home,
Wash your hands, clean your phone,
No cure, no pill nor vaccinia!”

Trying. Hard. And trying to influence others to do the same

So far this week I cancelled a business trip and helped organise a web conference instead, convinced two colleagues that sanitizer does in fact work against Corona viruses (alcohol 1 : lipid membrane envelope 0) but not all viruses, told a colleague to convince their partner not to go back to Bavaria for a communal vote on Sunday (especially not with public transport), and triggered the decision to cancel a long-planned triple birthday family celebration (nearly got into a fight with my partner about that, but that’s worth it). I also tried to convince another colleague that using lactobacillus solutions and Cistus pills would not prevent them from getting sick and that Illicium would not be an adequate treatment if they got sick. Don’t think I fully succeeded there, since I got angry about the “school medicine can not help with so much stuff” stance, and their pain about medicine is heartfelt because of a family member with a chronic unhealable illness.

One more thing: I just lost a family member in November. It is likely that many of us will also loose someone because of Corona.
But maybe, just maybe, our decisions today can help to prevent more people from dying. You will never know if it did. But from my experience, if someone dies, you will ask yourself what you could probably have done to prevent that death.

Please. Try. Stay safe.

Did Italy do anything 16 days ago that the USA isn’t doing now? Testing? Social distance?

I think of those poor forgotten telephone sanitizers every morning as I do my daily isopropyl dance.

Maybe @anon29537550 would appreciate some other doc humor too.

I forgot the chart is from two days ago, so it’s more like 10 days left now

or 14 at the Italian growth rate

We can just call it two weeks :grimacing:

It’s a long bumpy 1.5+ year road to an actual shipping version. (Good luck explaining that to Trump. Again.)
