But these days political affiliation is 100% relevant to whether or not a government employee is likely to honor a lawful request from Congress to execute their duties.
But the Democrats are not the ones appointing people like that.
What do you mean? The Democrats are absolutely the ones appointing people who will do their jobs well and execute their duties faithfully. Which is precisely why Trump doesnât trust these people.
Iâm probably not the only one who read your assertion as meaning that all government employees only perform their jobs based on their political affiliation.
Even then, itâs not 100%. Brad Raffensperger comes to mind.
Fine, itâs not actually 100% predictive yet. But sadly itâs definitely trending further in that direction. The majority of folks like Raffensperger who are willing to stand up to Trump on the election results are getting forced out of thr GOP. And the guy wasnât exactly a hero anyway.
I meant that are ultra-partisan, at least not to non-partisan positions.
(excerpt) On Tuesday, The Washington Post reported that former President Donald Trump is struggling to find reputable lawyers to assist him as the FBI investigates his unusual retention of highly classified information at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida. âOrdinarily, the prestige and publicity of representing a former president, as well as the new and complex legal issues at stake in this case, would attract high-powered attorneys. But Trumpâs search is being hampered by his divisiveness, as well as his reputation for stiffing vendors and ignoring advice,â said the report.
Paying on time buys a lot of forgiveness.
Yep. And law firms may not relish having their names associated with an almost guaranteed loss.
Iâm not seeing any law firms representing him these days, just low-rent strip mall lawyers.
Even Saul Goodman wouldnât take 45 on as a client.
Even Saul Goodman would probably say âno thanksâ
2022 will be known by historians as The Year of The Mall Lawyers.

âNo, I told you to hire mob lawyers!â
âJimmy McGill here. New phone, who dis?â
What makes anyone think the DOJ, especially the FBI, is going to just go along with that after Trump and all of these Republicans would likely have spent two years doing exactly what they are doing now - threatening them and sicking their violent wack-job supporters on them and their fucking families.
If they keep this up as long as Trump is in legal trouble, thereâs a good chance at least one FBI agent, Judge or DOJ official will be murdered in an attack driven by their bullshit before thereâs any chance of another Trump administration. Why the fuck would anyone in the DOJ or FBI carry out transparently bullshit reprisals on behalf of the people responsible for that, regardless of whatever sycophant Trump put in charge?
