Oregon militia leaders complain about no Internet in jail cell

“Welp, I don’t want to think about reforming an unjust system where rape is used as justice, better keep making lazy rape jokes!”

all of that can be true AND you’re behaving like an ass by making that joke.

Right, there’s “and I think it’s terrifying and inhuman”, and “I think it’s good for a cheap laugh” maybe there’s some defeatism, but there’s certainly no distress or disgust towards the act (just the victim of said act) in the execution.

I don’t think that is weird. Prisoners are afforded libraries (although that can be taken away for bad behavior). In general, I think some form of Internet access is a public right, although public providers such as pubic libraries can rightfully filter some content.

What I find ironic about the Bundy gang’s complaint is that, according to their weird interpretation of the Constitution, the development of the Internet was unconstitutional. So, yes, they along with all other prisoners should be given Internet access. But we should also highlight their hypocrisy and laugh at them.

Even before the supposed Usenet cabal I recall receiving “stinger.jpg” on irc. It’s possible that my memory is off by a year though.

doesn’t exist, and hasn’t existed since 1995.

Quake was released in 1996.

They are not Oregon Militia leaders. They are Nevada and Idaho militia leaders. They invaded the state of Oregon for their armed insurrection. Can we at least be a little more honest on who they are.

Why? Self-ascription works. Are you telling me that there’s an official status they’re not getting? Carpetbaggers are people too!

He probably wants to fool the facial recognition AI that the Elder Lizard Jew Overlords use to keep track of Freedom Fighters such as himself.
