Oregon militiaman arrested after stealing wildlife reserve vehicle to go shopping

How about just militia, then?

They’ve already lost “Fluffy Unicorn”, the bodyguard / self-appointed spokesman with the fabricated military past, who wandered off the reservation and got picked up in Arizona on an outstanding warrant.
Things will go Lord of the Flies soon enough, except they will be reluctant to pass around the conch for fear that it’s poisoned.

Yeah, they save those for women and children. They are less likely to fight back.

(ETA - not supporting their occupation, but not on the govs side either.)

They want to return to the ideals of the constitution-- when the united states was made up of sovereign counties, led by elected sheriffs who defended the people against the rapacious interests of the federal government.
They want to return to the original bill of rights, in which the first amendment was understood as dead letter without the second amendment, and lawful rebellion.

They want to return to the original ideals of the environmental movement, in which it was understood that exploitation of those natural resources granted to us by the LORD was as homage to god.

They want us to return us to to the days before the 14th amendment, in which the freedom of all men was cherished, and not subordinated to the greed of the Rockefeller and the Rothschild.

They want to return us to the halcyon days of the republic, before the lawyers ennobled themselves though the 13th amendment defying bar associations.

Yes … and free cheese. Who can blame them? Except for the guns, the sexism, the entitlement and the racism, they’re just like everyone else.

Didn’t seem all that weird when I was there. Seemed more empty than anything else. It was nice to have a few hundred square kilometers to myself for a while.

I don’t think it would be a good idea to cut off the power and heat because of all the damage that will cause when the water pipes freeze. I would like to see the Feds start sending in those little armed robots on treads, at first just carrying a camera but eventually tear gas canisters.

It would also be fun to watch the Feds fly a bunch of drones in a swarm and see if the goofball in the tower can shoot one down. It could be a real-world trial for their equipment. Then charge the Bundys for the cost of the damage later - a $500 drone built for the DoD would probably cost at least $100,000 each!

I wonder why? Why would he take the truck? He had to know he would get arrested. There are obviously other vehicles available. If he had taken a different vehicle the police would not have had cause to arrest him. Is it an attempt at martyrdom? If it was, did it work? Have others rallied in response?

Or, is he just that stupid?

That seems like an overestimation of these bumpkin’s intellect.

Probably he just overestimated exactly how hands off the authorities’ approach was going to be.

I’d reckon that the highest guarded part of Fort Knox is what is NOT there.

Even the avionics itself could be mighty cool.

I heard that a Russian radar from a MiG can cook a rabbit at couple hundred feet. But I didn’t manage to validate that claim so it may be a rumour. (Paging Mythbusters… I know they did a test with heating something on a ship radar but that was a little fart-cushion-like power one.)

Thought for drone and SDR people. A project to build cheap aircraft radars and electronic warfare systems (jammers, spoofers…). From what I saw from the military instructional movies, EWAR is a royal fun.

It was a cry for help.

I’ll settle for “gun-wielding squatters”.
Alternatively, “The secret life of Walter Mility”.

Then run them from generators while the grid is off long enough to actually safely cut the cables to the shack. Or just until the yahoos freeze and leave, if cable-cutting isn’t actually possible.

I get that a lot on mobile devices. The trick is to use the nav doodad on the bottom right to jump to [hicccup post+1].

That’d start a shootout. They’ve stated repeatedly that they’ll shoot on sight.

Honestly though, I think the real residents of the area may be getting sick enough of these out of state occupiers that they may accept a blackout long enough for the occupiers to get involved with the generators and stuff.

Honestly, I’d be all for using LRAD against them. Or even just rolling in with an MRAP and sitting in the middle of the parking lot absorbing ammo until they throw a tantrum and end up making a mistake like getting everyone outside where they can be teargassed. They almost certainly don’t have the necessary equipment to perforate an MRAP.
