Pelosi says House to begin 'official impeachment inquiry' on Donald Trump

45 would have happily let one of their own reporters rot in an Egyptian jail; they can go fuck themselves, sideways.

Anything John Yoo has to say is useless bullshit, agreed.

That man has done enough evil in this country for rule of law and moral justice. He can sleep out on the street with his opinion piece covering his lying scaly ass, and nothing else, and that’s about all he deserves

More great news on the “this is great for Trump, he wants to be impeached, it’ll ruin Dems’ chances!” front:

Everyone knows when you’re playing N-dimensional chess, the first thing you do is lie a lot, then when caught out, lie some more, then desperately call the opposition party leader in the House begging them like the class bully who’s been caught with a locker full of porn and a maintenance key to the girl’s shower room to please just let this one go after they announce they’re coming for your ass.

Yeah, but this is gonna take a while…

Why would he do that? He’ll just immediately call a vote and let it fail.

Gotta bring a better game than that, Kenneth.

Now if I wanted to troll this thread, I would suggest that Pelosi is doing this to turn up the heat under the Democrats’ base and pump fundraising, while in fact having zero intention of actually voting articles of impeachment.

I know! When he’s wearing an orange (what other color could it possibly be?) jump suit in Club Fed - you’ll be saying:

“This is good news for Trump! You’ve fallen right into his trap.”

So now that Trump is going after a family member of their favorite democratic candidate for doing what Trump’s family has been doing all along, do they finally decide to do something?

Cut it out, Don.

I’m not falling for the “trump is an evil genius and got them to fall for this by pretending not to release the complaint”

but… there are a lot of evil people who whisper in trump’s ears just like bush had cheaney

that 100-to-0 senate vote is mighty suspicious, what exactly did republicans talk about on that “retreat” they did several weeks ago?

are they really going to release an uncensored transcript and an uncensored complaint? so willingly? there is no court order

In the spirit of Papasan.

I’m lighting one right now!

(edit - gif too big)
(edit 2 - didn’t work - probably too blasted)

Spoiler alert: he was NEVER going to release the transcript of that call. Just delay for a few days until it blew over, and then claim he didn’t need to release it. Now watch as tomorrow he says “I’m not releasing it because they’re impeaching me, so why bother.”

He’s as predictable as the sun coming up every day.

John Barron, is that you?

I’m assuming “Kenneth” is just engaging in a bit of lazy trollery here.

From what I’ve read, the Nixon impeachment efforts basically went nowhere until Nixon’s popularity took a nosedive, at which point it picked up speed immediately. Unless we’re counting the Watergate hearings as an “impeachment inquiry.”

Fingers crossed the Democrats can turn the inquiry into something like the Watergate hearings.

But most of them are also idiots. And Trump is famous for ignoring advice, so smart advisors are generally wasted.

It’s already the law that the complaint had to be turned over to Congress. By withholding it, they’ve been breaking the law for weeks.

It fit so neatly into his pattern that I was surprised anyone fell for it.

I’m so old that I remember that impeachment of a President for having an affair led by a guy having an affair during the impeachment and a pedophile was considered acceptable.

Impeaching a guy for just being a hog feeding at the public trough, working with foreign powers to falsely charge his political opponents, being profoundly unfit for the office and undermining our elections is beyond the pale!
