I always forget that the Threat To Democracy is big here because in many of my circles the idea that we have democracy right NOW is not widely held.

“Do we have democracy” is not a binary yes/no question because the system of laws and protections in our democratic republic is and always has been imperfect.

A more constructive way of thinking about it is “are we going to fight to preserve (and expand) the democratic systems of government we have, or are we going to let the nation slide into a full-bore fascist dictatorship?”
