Police set dog on a driver who politely refuses to answer questions

OMG TWENTY WHOLE MINUTES!

He wasn’t a threat to anyone. There was not imminent danger of anything other than someone sitting in their car using a parking spot. There is no fucking way someone not putting a plate on their car needs to rise to the level of such urgency that life threatening violence needs to be used.

This was painful, bloody revenge for non-compliance and for being what people consider a political kook. That should horrify everybody.

Waaaait a minute. ‘Sovereign Citizen’, and he has a CCW*? I’d call him a hypocrite.

*CCW holders, at least in Arizona, go through the usual background checks that you go through to buy a firearm from a store, as opposed to a shady guy in some back alley who ‘acquired’ the firearm under questionable means, and the firearm has no serial number… /sarcasm

Actually, nope, no evidence he had a CCW. Nor a weapon, period.

This is like the definition of Keystone cop, right? So I was wrong, I thought it was an assumption on Robs part, but yes, the guy had made his own license plate. The cops ran the numbers that were on there, and it came back to some guy named Gary who had a CCW.

So - these cops, ran a plate they knew was fake - which no reasonable person would assume had a legit number - and based upon that reasonably assessed that this person was “Gary” who had a CCW.

LOL!!! or O_0

There are still vast tracts of woodlands you can get lost in all over the country. Areas so remote that the only access is via bushwhacking for days on your own two feet or helicopter. If you’re feeling especially hardy there is most of the state of Alaska for example, but the Pacific Northwest is probably a better place to start.

Go to google maps and find areas that only have satellite photo coverage (no higher res aircraft photos) for a good idea of where to start. The country is big, very big, and who is going to go out looking for you?

There’s no security in knowing everything you have built can be taken by a guy in a green hat.

Maybe the cop thought this was a case where the old plate was stolen and the guy didn’t want to pay the fee for the replacement plate so he made his own? It’s not a guarantee that the numbers on fa fake plate aren’t accurate.

It seems like going around with a fake plate is worse than going around with no plate. Cops are still going to pull you over unless your fake is really convincing (it’s not), and now you have an additional identity theft charge on top of your no-plates charge.

Once you go remote enough the danger of that happening drop precipitously. Nobody has the time or resources to patrol that far from civilization. Helicopters are expensive.

The danger is more likely to come if the land you are on is sold for logging rights and the logging company builds roads and starts clearing timber and you’re in the way.

I hope he sues that town out of existence.

I’ll be blunt about this, so what if cops were shot by people affiliated with the same movement? It doesn’t excuse their actions. You don’t get to attack people and blame a broad political affiliation. Plenty of cops have been shot by Democrats and Republicans too and we set the standard of police behavior based on individual circumstances.

Our pup (2 years now) does have very powerful jaws. She never, ever barks and will stay well clear of any dog who was ever aggressive toward her. She loves people (particularly children) and everybody else too.

So, um… there.

There are so many pitties now in so many ‘kinds of homes’ (this phrase makes me a little uncomfortable) that any breed concerns are quickly becoming things of the past. I see that as a person who has 2.

I’d rather pet a dog.

Well, looks like you just made their defense lawyers opening remarks.

Ugh. Another video I won’t be watching. Again, thanks for the warning about the screams. I do not need [more of] that sort of thing echoing in my head.

I don’t like that they are allowed to piss on anything public and the owner isn’t obliged to take a scrub brush to clean up.

I come from a family of dog lovers who happens to prefer cats. I’m also a night person from a clan of notoriously early risers. Strangely, I’m not bitter about dealing with a lifetime of this

My Grandfather must be rolling in his grave.
He was a Cop in Buffalo New York for 25 years.
He would have never tolerated this kind of behavior.
Police need to stop think of their job as “us vs them” and return to the job of helping the citizens. Cops need to learn that force should be their last choice, not the first thing.

I really resent being put in the position of having sympathy for some “sovereign citizen” jagoff.

But I do hope he sues and wins.

Ah. I sit corrected. Thank you.

On the other hand it’s usually safe to assume that a Sovereign Citizen type owns some guns. It comes with the territory.

I have a feeling suing would be an acknowledgement of the authority of laws of the land in some weird way to this guy. He may just have his parents he lives with pay for the stitches. That’s kind of what I’m betting. Nobody said it was easy being your own nation.

That’s why I’m kind of hoping that he sues, and that he wins.

That way he’d have to admit he was wrong in some way, and also justice would be served against this cop who was pretty wrong.
