People tend to forget that one. Like the way Russia was imperialist before communism, during it, and after it. It’s almost like it’s a thing in and of itself.

Communism has long been used as a catchall for people who don’t like more human-centric public policy to counter capitalism. Dr. King was called a communist, for example. They are a lot more thoughtful on what they’re doing than people assume.
So you’re okay with a political party that is openly genocidal? The GOP are an openly fascist, anti-democratic (small d, as in opposed to democracy) party right now.

The German government was purged of Nazis after the war, and the Japanese government was purged of military officers and their enablers. And both countries were better off for it.
