The problem is the singer, which became kinda evident after they removed the vocals in, what, S4? Didn’t they try adding guitar in S2 to drown out the vocals a bit, too?
It seems like the biggest problem people have with STE’s theme is that it has lyrics at all. And then maybe the guitar isn’t well liked because all the other theme songs up to that time were orchestral?
