I still love the fact your avatar is Dax going full historical cosplay to fit in. He hair was fine, but no she went all in.
Plus she gets to pull off my favorite Star Trek trope: Computer technology of the day is childs play to them and they can make it do amazing things.

The future is not what it used to be.
I found an interesting essay on the Bell Riots:
I’m aware some may have quibbles with the political critique, but both the article and the comments are thought-provoking reading.
Here are the highlights that compelled me to search out the full piece:
I rewatched the episodes yesterday and there’s even a bit where Sisko-as-Bell says that the people in the Sanctuary Zone “don’t want handouts”, and yeah, he’s interested in 21st century history so he might know the kinds of things that people would say but it’s also the kind of argument that should be thoroughly debunked by life in the Federation and alien to him as a result. I know there’s decades between the two shows and leftist thought seems to be more prevalent culturally now, but compare it to how the characters in Lower Decks talk about money in general.
Rest in peace; Vic Fontaine.
The way things are headed, they’ll all be “prompt engineers” with no real understanding of computers.
Scotty tries talking to a mouse, but a moment later blasts that Mac keyboard with complete spec for transparent aluminum. Sigh
In some other timeline, it’s the start of the Taco Bell riots. Probably that damned Demolition Man one
Five credit fine for inappropriate language!
Thought so.
