Good on Caroline for using her platform to discuss an issue that’s often marginalized or made “taboo.” No act of consensual love should be considered shameful. I get why some people might be uncomfortable or uninterested in hearing about one individual’s experiences, but if opening the conversation reduces alienation for a few, it seems totally worth it for the slight discomfort you experience by closing a tab on your browser.

Do we know whether the byline was her choice or the publisher’s? I’m not sure how these things work, but if the publisher gets to choose the headline, can they also influence the byline?
