Senate Judiciary Committee finds Russia funded Trump campaign via the NRA

…we’ve got gun and fames!

Seems to be a whole lot of fires, and he made sure to give himself plausible deniability on it all.

Note that the $30 million figure is how much the NRA spent during the election, not how much the NRA allegedly recieved from assorted Russians. Does anyone have a number for that second figure?

I think the number is 5 million? But amplified by the NRA’s legion of useful idiots, ammosexuals and gun fondlers. And let’s not forget the all-important cretin vote.

Oops! I forgot to use the proper HTML tags.

This story was detailed in the very first chapter of this book that I’ve been reading. They say where there is smoke, there’s fire…well, if the dumpster ain’t flaming yet it’s sure as hell is pluming smoke.

The big takeaway for me is that if there’s proof that NRA knowingly accepted and funneled foreign money into campaigns then we’re potentially talking serious prison time for some folks.

Couldn’t happen to a more deserving bunch.

Excerpt:

Torshin was a suspected boss of the Taganskaya Mafiya organization. A lengthy investigation carried out by José Grinda, the famed Spanish anti-corruption prosecutor and bête noire of the Russian Mafiya, found Torshin used his connections in the political, financial, and criminal worlds to help amass an ill-gotten fortune.

Torshin and Butina likely wouldn’t even have gotten to that kind of proximity to Trump if it weren’t for their connections to the NRA, which spent $ 30 million to support Trump in the 2016 elections, three times as much as the gun-rights group gave to Republican Mitt Romney four years earlier. In January 2018, McClatchyDC reported that the origin of the NRA’s suddenly swollen bank account was an item of interest in Special Counsel Mueller’s investigations into the Russian scandal. The FBI is reportedly investigating whether money for the NRA’s donations to the Trump campaign came from Torshin himself, which, if true, would make the NRA guilty of the criminal act of taking foreign money for election campaign funds. Guilty, that is, of collusion.

and might I add, representing a large population of gentlemen who, I suspect, because they couldn’y openly call the last president “that N*****” (at least not publicly), made such a big scene about calling him various versions of “communist”, and who railed against Bernie as a “socialist”.

And they dropped the soap in the shower for actual f-ing Russians?..

BTW, a reminder from a few years ago:

The NRA/Russia connection substantially predates Trump.

At a guess, I’d say that the Russians’ main motivation was to gain lobbying assistance against the Obama-era sanctions. The NRA were likely motivated by a mix of financial greed and evangelical gun-nuttery. The US arms industry funds pro-gun extremism across the world, and has done for decades.

Unfortunately, those gentlemen recognise that Putin’s Russia is not remotely Communist and, on the contrary, Putin’s government espouses values that they share such as patriotism, morally conservative Christianity, homophobia and a belief in the superiority of Western civilisation.

Is calling Bernie a socialist not factual?

Depends on how precise you want to be.

He occasionally identifies as a Democratic Socialist, but he’s really more of a Social Democrat. Which is an ideological neighbour, so the differences aren’t hugely apparent at first glance.

The dues-paying suckers who believe that the NRA represents the interests of owners of firearms instead of those of the manufacturers will never learn and would prefer to pretend this situation doesn’t exist. You’ll note the sound of crickets in this thread where comments from the NRA’s supporters and ammosexual apologists would usually be.

The NRA is a right-wing xenophobic organisation that regularly seeks to divide Americans and shovels lots of donations to GOP politicians on behalf of the firearms industry. It makes sense that Putin would make use of it (via his tame oligarchs and other cut-outs) as a conduit.

So, do you really think Trump was unaware of these illegals sources funding his campaign? Just his knowledge makes him complicit on illegal issues on so many levels, collusion does not even have to come into play. But, I’ll bet you dollars to donuts, collusion was in play here. Are you that desperate to keep supporting this mad man? I mean if even a smidget of the evidence is true, trump and the GOP are treasonous traitors. Are you going to blame Obama or HRC for that?

So what if he is. This nation needs many policies based on socialism.

Well that makes it all better then!

I don’t have a problem with that. But a candidate who identifies as a socialist has no cause to take offense if the NRA (or anyone else) calls him one.

Until the Special Counsel, NY and VA AG offices (along with whomever else is currently digging) conclude their work, we can’t know that. There’s this weird public litigation going on about things that are now public facts. They keep revealing deeper and deeper ties, yet people dismiss them because there hasn’t been a case brought against Ill Douche himself, even though there have been, what 14 indictments so far carrying hundreds of charges with almost all of them resulting in successful prosecution and none with dismissal. I think of this like an iceberg, we see the 10% above water while Mueller is wearing SCUBA gear.

I’m thrilled - now we have legitimate reason to disband the NRA. Its about time.
