Serial racist: for years, New Yorkers have been videoing their encounters with ranting racist lawyer Aaron Schlossberg

As someone who’s been harassed and bullied to the point that I dropped out of school and did not become a lawyer, I have this to say to him: eat it, b*tch.

Hey folks, long time appreciative reader here but first post.

Honest, curious non-argumentative question: why does this story have the tag “Zionism” over its headline? I get that this guy’s Jewish. Perhaps someplace else where he’s not screaming racist crap he’s identified himself as a supporter of Israel? Perhaps not, I don’t know. Either way, I’m not sure what that has to do with him being a racist harasser who got caught and publicly served a nice hot dish of karma.

My concern is that, regardless of intention (and as I said above, as a long time reader of BB I’m quite sure the intention was something else, although I remain confused), this gives the appearance of saying that this guy’s racist views are in line with or somehow part-in-parcel with his being a “Zionist”, i.e., being Jewish.

Of course there’s a wide range of strongly-held opinions about the policies and actions of the Israeli state, press coverage of the same, and on and on, and I don’t mean to weigh in on any of that here. It is also the case that legitimate, necessary opposition to the policies and actions of Israel, a country, all too often blurs and/or finds common cause with good old fashioned antisemitism, which is racism, plain and simple. Not too many other types of foreign policy opinions and objections with a country (as opposed to a religious or cultural group like Jews, Muslims, African-Americans, etc.), no matter how fiercely held, take that form.

In any event, I think that in the current climate of rising and emboldened racism of all stripes in the U.S. (and elsewhere), including antisemitism, we should be on guard against these kind of slippages, hence my perhaps (hopefully?) overwrought concerns here. But I think they are better aired than stifled and hopefully you’ll agree. After all, that’s what we’re doing as a culture (at least as part of it) in repudiating this shithead lawyer, isn’t it? Saying to one another, as much or more as to him, that you can’t get away with that here anymore. Well, OK. Ideally. There’s an election coming up. Go register!

Rant over, thanks for having me.

Not sure but I think its in reference to Cory’s notes quoted above.

He has also accused other Jews of not being Jewish, which mirrors the pro/anti Zionist conflict within the greater Jewish community. In short, a bit of meta-humor.

I think what’s weirder is that the man he was yelling at was ultra orthodox. It’s rather odd to hear sympathy towards Palestinians from that crowd. And it’s also pretty impossible for them to be “fake jewish”.

I’d argue that yes, absolutely it merits revoking his legal license. Someone with this history of behaviour and clear prejudice should absolutely not be a professional.

That sounds like a very convoluted way for a lawyer to empty your pockets.

Ow, right in his sense of entitlement!

Yeah, I think he’s making a strong, ongoing case for that. The fact that he’s actively soliciting work from exactly the sorts of people that he publicly abuses suggests he’s not living up to his professional responsibilities regarding them. Plus, there’s the whole “lying about being a member of the New York State Bar Association” thing. Either he’s a fraud or (and) has some serious mental health issues that would interfere with his ability to act professionally.

I take it that they are duly oblivious to the fact that their visibly ethnic behavior and failure to integrate are pretty similar to the alleged sinister La Raza plot to re-annex the American southwest through foreign fecundity? And that the groups they are loudly being part of were only granted ‘white’ status and at least limited exemption from being un-American papist immigrant filth with the comparatively recent past?

Oh no they’re pretty aware. But only in so far as it allows them to argue that black people shouldn’t complain cause look how bad x, y and z had it and they never complain.

Or to argue that white people are the ones who are really disadvantaged.

What I’m getting at here is that this is Trumps base. His actual base. His original base. Richer than average douches from major cities. These were the guys who bought mail order Trump steaks. And hung on the guys every word starting in the 80s. The people his shit house aesthetic appeals to. The kind of “regular American” and “real New Yorker” Trump desperately wants to be.

Mother fuckers who eat a slice of pizza with a fork and knife.

Sure but the ultra orthodox community in NYC is rather closely tied to the ultra orthodox groups in Israel that drive the Israel as Jewish ethnic theocracy movement. And groups that are involved with both keeping Netanyahu in power and pushing the Israeli administration further rightward. With all the attendant harsh treatment of Palestinians that go with both.

Theres also a big tie with the American religious right.

From personal experience. And from the private complaints of Jewish friends. It seems that’s not at all an uncommon altercation. It’s just usually reversed.

Do you know which affiliate? I kinda want to try to see if they posted the segment online.

He’s crying out for help.
