The FBI just held a press conference in Burns and showed an aerial video of what happened during the traffic stop:
This is the full-length video (they showed a shortened version at the press conference). I havenāt watched it yet and havenāt decided yet if Iām going to; itās not super close to the action, but I usually do avoid watching videos of people getting shot, and others have commented that this could be disturbing. So be forewarned.

Warning, it is from a distance but a man dies. Looks like he pulled a gun while trying to watch/move away from the officers on either side and they shot him once he did.
Weāll know in a few years when subcomandante Bundy overthrows the yoke of federal oppression. This was the shot heard round the world, folks.

It looks like he misses hitting a cop who was running in the direction of the snowbank by a few feet while crashing. Then he gets out of the car within about four seconds of the crash with his arms out to the side. It looks like he reaches for his torso a few times. Unfortunately, without audio we canāt tell if heās following orders to put down his gun thatās in a holster or he panics and goes for his gun. I canāt tell if he ever notices the cop behind him that emerged from the trees.

It was mentioned that he was yelling at them after he got out of the car, but they didnāt give details on the verbal exchange; I think thatās going to come later. Not clear on if thereās any other video, or some audio, of the incident (youād think there would be a dash cam?). But it seems like this is the video they are choosing to release right now, to counter the stories that he was shot while on his knees or otherwise surrendering.
Spoiler alert: description ahead.
Finicum was in the lead vehicle. He gets stopped by two SUVs flashing their flashers. Thereās no sound, but I presume the Gov was issuing instructions over megaphone. Truck sits there for 7-8 mins. Of note, itās been reported that Finicumās pickup+cab was a manual tranny, and it looked like his foot was on the brake the whole time. Ya know, Iād yank the emergency brake if I was gonna stay put for a while, so maybe that shows that he was itching to play some outrun.
And so he does, running away from a traffic stop. Dumb move. Though, heās not going far because heās been tailed by at least 1 Bear-In-The-Air, if not 2 helicopters.
Looks like Old LaVoy was really gassing it, because I think by the time he realized there was a road blockade ahead he was going too fast for the stopping power of his big truck. So, he swerves into the snowback to avoid a vehicular collision.
Then, for reasons unknown, he hops out of his vehicle. Dumb move. What part of āremain in your vehicle with your hands where I can see themā donāt white granddads understand?!?
To be sure, he had his hands up when he got out of the truck. Then it looks like he put his hands down. Then it looks like he reached for something. Then they dropped him. Feds looked like they had an awp camping in the woods to the left that Finicum didnāt even see coming. Whomever got him got him clean because he went down like a sack of idaho potatoes.

Sorry to go tangential on this. Is anyone familiar with the particular surveillance equipment used? Iām curious what sort of information is displayed in those areas of the screen that were redacted.
