He really isn’t. Adam Baldwin, perhaps.
I’m sorry, what? Seriously? Seriously?
I dunno… He’s certainly not creepier than a lot of the trollies we get on here from time to time. What I’ve seen is some embarrassing sexual admissions (don’t give a fuck, and fuck Gizmodo for publishing it), dunderheaded objectification of women models, that he fudged documents so he could be employed at a minimum wage job until he had enough money to buy insurance (I really don’t care and I laugh at you if you think this is uncommon), and the fact that he believed Zimmerman was acting rationally (I do care, but this viewpoint is not sufficiently uncommon among the ill-informed to be exceptional). He went so far as to call Zimmerman a shit bird, so he’s not beyond all nuance. For all we know he’s susceptible to reason on this subject. Others who’ve picked through his Reddit remarks seem to come to the conclusion that he seems mostly reasonable beyond the dirt you can mine up from the depths where you seek it out. Remember that they went through as much as they could and dug up the worst of all he’s said.
Could he still be an absolute asshole? Maybe. But there are people on this very BBS we wouldn’t call creeps that stack up pretty much the same.
[tangent]The creepiest thing about Ken Bone? He’s only 34 years old. He looks about 50 to me, and a really unhip 50 at that. [/tangent]
He looks at porn and acts like a jackass when he thinks he’s anonymous? Sounds like pretty much every guy in the country. Called Zimmerman a “big ole shitbird” (who would disagree with that?) but thought the shooting of Trayvon Martin was justified? Keep in mind he’s undecided between Trump and Clinton, so that position surprises me not at all. He probably heard somewhere that the shooting was justified and didn’t question it, even though he has genuine sympathy for Trayvon Martin’s family.
Adam Baldwin is worse than a Republican. He’s a #gamergater.
I was most disappointed by his comments on The Fappening.
Trump is just a wanna be Jack Donaghy
He coined the term, IMHO. And I used to love him, too… now not so much. (Though I still love his character Jayne from Firefly. I just have to jump through a few mental hoops to separate the role from the actor.)
I dunno. Jayne was funny in a kind of loveable way, but after the GG mess the actor shared at least one detail with him in my opinion…
If it helps, he was an arsehole in Full Metal Jacket.

[/quote] After reading some of his AMA I agree, I’d even say he’s in good guy territory.
The two newscasters showed you how you needed to start off the debate.
I’ve found that I can’t watch Firefly any more. Adam Baldwin and GamerGate ruined it for me.
I’m normally one of the people who argues that you should keep a performer’s personal life and beliefs separate from their work, and not let one impact your opinions on the other… but I’ve now learned that I personally can’t live up to my own rhetoric in that regard. Which maybe helps me better understand the point of view of people on the other side of that argument.
So when viewed in this very specific way (and only in this very specific way), one could perhaps argue that Adam Baldwin has made me a more tolerant person.
It’s probably because the show is sold for rebroadcast by one of your local stations and it’s being blocked so they can maximize their ad revenue on the content.
In Canada, the local stations there would probably show nothing but American TV if not for laws forcing them to have some Canadian content, so this happens frequently there.
“Standing at my podium, and she walks in front of me, right? She walks in front of me, you know? And when she walked in front of me, believe me, I wasn’t impressed.”
Yeah Donald, you’re really helping yourself not get seen as a sex-offender.
FWIW, women are used to this sort of thing, so it was immediately noticeable to me during the debate. I actually thought at the time: he can’t even stop himself when it’s a 68-year-old grandmother, which means this is how he checks out EVERY SINGLE WOMAN who is ever physically near him.
There were times you can see he’s actually moving himself so as to get a better look. During a Presidential debate…it boggles the mind.
Behind every great man is a woman and behind every great woman is some guy checking out her behind.
I have to disagree. My SO is into SNL and we’ve been together a long time, so I’ve sat through a lot of dreary, unfunny SNL (or tolerated it as background noise). Yes, there has always been tedious filler, but the quality:filler ratio has gone up and down, and right now I would say the show is the strongest it has been in many years.
Weekend Update is holding its own in the age of ubiquitous TV news parodies, the writing is stronger overall, the cast as a whole is quite good with no superstars to hog all the limelight, and they are relying on fewer tired old recurring sketches (thanks in part to the departure of Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig – both very talented, but both overly attached to a small handful of characters).
Here’s something I liked from this Saturday:
