No explanation given by Trump-controlled State Department
October 2, 2019
https://www.cnn.com/2019/10/02/politics/steve-linick-state-department-inspector-general/index.html
Although Linick serves at the pleasure of the President, there are safeguards to prevent him from being quickly removed. âThe President must communicate the reasons for the action in writing to both Houses of Congress at least 30 days before the removal or transfer,â according to the Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency.
In writing, would a tweet do?
At one levelâŚFUUUCCKK!
But at another level, whereâs the surprise here?
If only Trump performed were capable of this amount of self-examination. (He canât even do a real arrogant.)
âDoes not have the fullest confidenceâ of the failed and impeached mass-negligent-homicidal Donald Trump should be a stamp of honor on any inspectorâs resume.
Although now that I think about it more, being less corrupt than Trump is a very, very low bar. Like welded-to-the-floor low. Like the only other person who could possibly sleaze beneath it would be #MoscowMitch McConnell.
Thatâs my response for just about every article that describes anything Donny Small Hands does.
Moscow Mitch McConnell is like the rusted, rotted, swollen rebar buried deep in the crumbling concrete slab that is the floor - so youâre right.
If you really want to clean the swamp, you gotta hang on to the swamp inspectors.
Figures.
Â
This couldnât have anything to do with the fact that Linick just opened an investigation into Mike Pompeo could it?
Nah⌠A retaliatory firing of that sort would be a blatant (and probably illegal) abuse of power wouldnât it? Not the sort of thing that Donny small Mushroom would do right?
Your personal definitions of âswampâ and âcleanâ may be malfunctioning.
Is the Presidentâs ability to fire an Inspector General on a whim one of those famous checks and balances we used to hear about?
âDoes not have the fullest confidenceâ may be why you sack somebody, itâs not a reason. (and thatâs not even gong into the requirement to do provide the reasons a minimum of 30 days before the termination, not in the letter announcing it).
But hey-ho historyâs written by the victors so words donât mean anything nowâŚ
In 2016, we were assured that - despite warnings from multiple intelligence agencies - Trump was NOT working for Vladimir Putin.
In 2020, Iâm wondering if it would look any different if he were.
A late Friday press dump is called âtaking out the trashâ in politico parlance.
Fuck this noise.
This has not gone unnoticed. Top story on NPR news this morning, and congressional democrats are angry.
Whether or not YOUR senators or representatives are democrats, WRITE them and CALL them (local office) and let them know:
You are AWARE of this firing
You are AWARE of the ongoing whistleblower complaints about Pompeo and his wife.
That you demand investigations into both.
I have my MoCâs contact information bookmarked and on speed dial. If you havenât yet, this site is excellent for looking up email addresses and office phone numbers:
I got my emails off:
A rational person will see this and think itâs retaliation for the inspector doing his job. A not so rational person will think âA HA! Trump found another member of the Deep State!â
Tonight the State Deptâs Inspector General was ousted. A Democratic aide on Capitol Hill tells me that the OIG was looking into Secretary Pompeoâs misuse of a political appointee at the Department to perform personal tasks for himself and Mrs. Pompeo.
You will clean up after Mrs. Pompeoâs dog and you will retrieve Mrs. Pompeoâs dry cleaning.
Republicans murder language.
Maybe I missed something but I thought Donny usually had some underling handle a termination and not dirty his own small hands with the âYouâre fired!â action. Couldnât he find a minion to do it?
Just a reminder: If an effective Deep State actually existed, Donny would never have reached the White House.
