Funny how not-outraged the BBers who seek “polite disagreement” are about Trump’s people.
And we know what happened to her.
Indeed, I do.
Using the very term that tainted his campaign - fake news - is a classic turnabout accusation. He doesn’t do it directly, but slides into the stream that fake news is a thing, and now goes along with it, without even remotely referring to its association to him.
Classic sociopath.
This is why I’m supporting and looking forward to a good grilling by the senate. On the record, on CSPAN. Makes it unignorable. Like sunlight on a vampire.
Are you kidding?
He is clearly the mostest literate human that has ever existed.
I hear that he literizes all the time. He’s got a YUGE literizer!
Three cheers for the uber literate Prez. TinyDick!
This. There also needs to be a removal of the neo-liberals. They forgot the people they were there for.
I have more to say on this but I should have been to bed 2 hours ago.
Well, he’s doing great things now.
Man… Trump only wishes he could look that intimidating.
It is well documented that Trump NEVER uses a computer nor writes emails. He dictates ALL correspondence and even rebuttals are written by someone else after he marks articles he has cut out and brought to him.
See, he’s really not like them. They’re legitimately rich and powerful. They’re pulling the strings; he’s the puppet marionette wannabe. I guarantee you he would get as much respect at Bohemian Grove as Rodney Dangerfield did at Bushwood.
That’s not the adjective that would have occurred to me, honestly.
Solemn… somber… austere, even.
But as a man who not only survived and escaped slavery; but became one of the greatest abolitionists of the anti-slavery movement, it seems more likely that his perpetual morose look came from having endured and overcome unimaginable hardships…
So yeah, 45 will never even scratch the surface of looking so intense.
not even lucky, really. several sites ( fortune included ) have pointed out he would have made more if he’d invested in a stock market index fund. basically: he’s managed not to blow his father’s money, but not a heck of a lot more than that.
Intense? I dunno but that portrait just says this guy has been through some serious stuff. Contrast this with Trump’s own perpetual scowl which looks like he’s just mad that his Trump Steak was undercooked.
ETA Apparently this seriousness in his photographs was intentional. He was also the most photographed person of the 1800s which I was not aware of until now
Where is Pence in all this?
No matter how much I dislike establishment Republicans, these alt-right creeps seem a lot more dangerous to people’s physical safety.[quote=“Espresso, post:129, topic:94460”]
It might sound shocking, but I would suggest that whether he can read is beside the point. Hasn’t he said outright that briefings are too boring? So even if he’s a great reader, the best, it’s for naught if he can’t be bothered to read the important stuff anyway, or listen to experts give him the skinny.

I don’t find this shocking at all, and I think it’s the real point. He might be illiterate, have a serious disability that prevents him from reading, literate at a very low level, need glasses and refuse to wear them, or just be too bored to read documents he signs his name to. But let’s think of it this way: imagine that 6 years into his presidency Obama had been in an accident that left him blind. You’d have a president who couldn’t read what he was signing (I’m assuming Obama doesn’t already read braille).
Would that stop Obama from functioning as president? Hell no. He’d use screen reading software, he’d have people read things to him, he’d have a sighted guide everywhere he went. There’s a massive staff available to support the president. Having a support person or two or three be with you every waking moment of the day to help you adjust to blindness is completely within the realm of the realistic for the President of the United States of America.
The point isn’t whether Trump can read. The point is that because of some combination of lack of ability, lack of interest, and lack of humility, he doesn’t read the orders and doesn’t ask for help that would be immediately provided.
Any condition I can think of which would render a president literally unable to understand an executive order they sign is a condition under which the 25th amendment should be invoked.
#NominalPresidentTrump
I dunno, that assumes he knows what nominal means, or that somebody in his inner circle will explain it to him. “Nominal means Number one, sir! They’re saying you’re the best president ever!”
