Steve Bannon was arrested on a boat, and the U.S. Postal Service was involved

Bannon might know where some of the bodies are buried. There’s plenty of reasons to try and keep Bannon quiet before November.

Quick question - can someone be pardoned before they are convicted? If not, then Trump can’t do much - this case won’t be heard and resolved before the election.

Edit. I see ficuswhisperer above has said yes - a blanket pardon is a thing in the US.

The president has the discretion to pardon federal crimes. state governors have the discretion to pardon state crimes.

Looks pretty damning to me. Bannon accused of siphoning off more than $1M from the sham fund:

Federal prosecutors allege that Kolfage, a Purple Heart winner and triple amputee, “covertly took for his personal use more than $350,000 in funds that donors had given to We Build the Wall,” that Bannon, “through a non-profit organization under his control (‘Non-Profit-1’), received over $1 million from We Build the Wall.” At least some of that money was spent by Bannon on personal expenses, according to the statement.

According to the statement, the four then "devised a scheme to route those payments from We Build the Wall to Kolfage indirectly through Non-Profit-1 and a shell company under Shea’s control, among other avenues. They did so by using fake invoices and sham “vendor” arrangements, among other ways, to ensure, as Kolfage noted in a text message to Badolato, that his pay arrangement remained "confidential” and kept on a “need to know” basis.

In January, Tim Shea created a limited liability company called Winning Energy. According to the company’s website, it is a “premium energy drink brand.” The can design, with a superhero-dressed President Trump, lists the drink as “12 oz of liberal tears.”

According to the company’s Facebook page, Winning Energy sponsored the July 4 Destin, Fla. Trump boat parade. The video includes a shot of a boat with Trump/Pence flags and the name “Warfighter” painted on the back.

The federal indictment lists a 2019 Jupiter Marine boat named “Warfighter” as one of the assets to be forfeited.

Yep, that’s the pony!

Lady May has been touted has one of the world’s most sophisticated superyachts and is currently on sale for $27.9 million. The Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday that it belongs to Guo Wengui, an exiled Chinese businessman.

This seems like it might be the “something” in it for him:

(Assuming Trump is made aware of the vulnerability Bannon has become by the circumstances of his arrest.)

A downright necessity in this case I should think.

I hope that includes the cost of disinfecting the thing.

A boat belonging to a Chinese billionaire at that. All we need for perfection is that they own Huawei.

Just saw a video clip of Trump’s reaction. He basically did everything he could to distance himself from Bannon and others involved in the scam and tried to claim that he opposed the project from the start (even though he gave it his tacit blessing) and used the word “showboating” several times to denigrate the project.

I think it’s funny to hear Trump use the word “showboating” as an attack considering

  1. Showboating is basically Trump’s whole deal
  2. Bannon was arrested on a showy boat
  3. Trump was very recently reveling about how he was honored with a big parade of boats

That they would have agents with guns is one of those things which makes perfect sense, once you stop to think about how reality works.
