I’ve only used it in limited form on woods (especially some of the more oily woods). It’s really meant for wet sanding, so your mileage may vary on wood.
Best price I’ve found is from Redhill Supergrit. I’d recommend getting a small amount, and see if it works for your purposes. It’s by far the best I’ve used for hand polishing hardened steel.
