Prior to starting my transition, I never considered owning a gun, mostly out of self preservation. Now that I am beginning to be emotionally stable, I am reluctantly thinking about getting a gun, entirely out of self preservation.

if it makes it to the courts it will go first to the texas supreme court, don’t count on any help there, then to the fifth circuit court, definitely don’t expect any help there, and from there to the supremes and, let’s face it, unless roberts is in a mood to try and prove the court isn’t filled with partisan hacks there is no chance at all while if he is of a mood to try to keep the court from appearing too blatant who is he going to convince to come to his side, thomas? that’s a non-starter, barret? never happen, so either kavanaugh or gorsuch and only if roberts is pushing for a different result.
i’m afraid trump has left us with little recourse with the courts. so either we pack the court or we start working to elect legislators who aren’t actively evil.

A better way to sway Roberts is to demonstrate to him that this will be bad for Texas corporations – he puts the needs of these fictitious “persons” before those of humans. Plenty of ways for people to make that happen: boycotts, employees (esp. tech employees) threatening to leave the state en masse, teams and conventions and entertainers canceling venues, etc. Speaking personally, I don’t give my tourism dollars to any state that enacts such laws; I’ll go out my way to avoid a connection at an airport in that kind of state.
How willfully blind does he have to be not to acknowledge that Xtianists won’t stop at the “T” but will move quickly to deal with the “LGB” as well? The kapo mentality is pervasive amongst right-wing pundits (see also Ben Shapiro).

I have to agree with you here, things like this may not be won online but they sure are fought online which is why an open and free internet that has no surveillance or broken by design encryption is absolutely essential or we’re all fucked.
