These cheap debate tactics and bad arguments have been around for millennia, at this point in human history. I keep wondering if critical thinkers get killed off (at least the vocal ones who push back). Or we historically give up and pull a Candide: retreat, “cultivate our own garden” saying the hell with it. That only sometimes works as long as there’s not a civil war or a massive environmental catastrophe (flood, fire, earthquake, pandemic, famine, tornado, plague of locusts, rain of blood…).
Damn, it looks I’ve been filling up that bingo card as well, all this time.
