Increasing age to SS eligibility will essentially cut out a large chunk of lower SES folks from getting it at all, shifting the benefits even more drastically to the upper income folks. As planned, of course.
Again, the assholes trying to take the benefits we’ve all paid into our entire working lives have very little to no labor income that would’ve resulted in such people having paid in enough to get a meaningful payout.
Also disability. I’m one ocean to the east of y’all, but on current stats I give myself even odds of making it to the current age of our SS equivalent.
Appropriations and Armed Services? The latter seemed to have nothing to do with my entries. I did say I wanted to keep my head down…maybe the system interpreted that as, “…or get out of the way.”
The author of the Engadget article linked in that post just says it’s quoting from a report by the House Committee on the Judiciary, but it’s not just that. It’s from the newly created Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government. Everyone can be proud that the first report produced is of the highest priority: calling the Federal Trade Commission names and using scare quotes to defend one rich guy.
Aside from the spin, there are screenshots taking up space on nearly every page of the short report. Some of those intended to support a case that there was political pressure on the FTC to act end up showcasing all the things people warned about which came to pass. They might have had a case about the volume of requests made by the FTC being onerous, if there was any evidence presented that Elon’s Twitter complied. There are FTC letters and requests mentioned in the footnotes, but those weren’t provided in the 94 pages of appendices.
