Itâs hyperbole I know, but itâs also worth noting that there is and has been a disproportionate push to remove children from their POC parents for any and all infractions and put them into the for-profit foster system where white families can âraiseâ them for financial gain and free labor or shunt the parents and children alike into prisons where they also function as free labor. To people who support such measures, ambiguous ill-defined laws that make almost all parents and children vulnerable are desirable and can easily be framed as âprotectiveâ while essentially allowing for discretionary enforcement.
