There’s your problem…
But what about the rest of them?
If they really live in Austin they must hate it
“CRT and gender extremism”
I was looking at a listicle yesterday that showed the 20 most dangerous (per capita) cities in the U.S. and I noticed at least 3 Missouri cities on there. And before anyone asks, St. Louis (diverse) was on there, but East St Louis (predominantly Black, and in Illinois) was not. So they’ve got at least 15% of the most dangerous cities in the U.S., but yeah, the danger is CRT.
FWIW: the only city in Illinois on the list was Rockford, predominantly white, and NOT Chicago, thankyouverymuch. Both Memphis and Nashville made the list, so I think TN was in second place for most dangerous state.
also targeting religious minorities in 3 … 2 …
Eventually some group is going to have a Pokemon Go type augmented reality app for reporting and tracking phantom threats to their petty little lives.
“Gotta catch them all!”
Hey, now, yinz are cruisin’ for a bruisin’ now.
You can hitchhike with it - but only to Pittsburgh.
TIL:
In 1996 Mr. Cope gave the rights to “Myron Cope’s Official Terrible Towel” to the Allegheny Valley School in the Pittsburgh suburb of Coraopolis. The school provides care for more than 900 children, adults and senior citizens with mental retardation and physical disabilities. Proceeds from the Terrible Towel have helped raise almost $1.1 million for the school.
Boo!!! Hiss!!!
Besides- it’s satire.
He knew what it meant. He didn’t think his “in-joke” would be recognized.
Deep in occupied Texas?
The officers indicted for excessive force in protests in Austin are suing the city, the manufacturers of the weapons they used, and the protest organizers. The sheer assholery and fuckery going on here is mind blowing. They are suing because they used these weapons against unarmed people and now have injuries and trauma? ARGH
Public outrage ensued following the River Valley graduation ceremony after alumni speaker Jim McGuire condemned homosexual relationships Friday in his commencement speech.
McGuire, a River Valley graduate who now is the owner of a manufacturing company, J.L. McGuire and Associates, encouraged the graduates of the Marion County public school to pursue the “Biblical principles” of only romantic relationships between a man and a woman.
So, you’re not allowed to talk about LGBTQ people, but shit like this is just fine.
“we could have hit Saudi Arabia… we could have hit Pakistan. We hit Iraq because we could”.
So in other words despite the fact that the thing you wanted to “hit” was in Saudi Arabia you hit somewhere else because you could. You obviously felt you couldn’t hit Saudi Arabia.
What an evil asshole.
suing the city, saying they didn’t receive training on how to use the “less than lethal” rounds employed during the demonstrations and that city officials knew the rounds were defective.
This I can get on board with…
The lawsuit also names activist groups as defendants, including Black Lives Matter and the Austin Justice Coalition, for encouraging “rioting, looting and violence.
But this is straight up bullshit, victim-blaming, “look what you made me do” DARVO nonsense.
There are just so many of them across the world! On “our” side, support for that war is just such a reliable guide though. It undermined liberal democratic soft power all around the world. Just as a for example every time someone mentions a terrible weapon the Russians are using on Ukraine (and which they of course very recently used on Syrians to less outcry) it turns out that very same thing was used in Iraq in general and Fallujah in particular. They just went high on the smell of their own power there.
I blame it to a large extent for people outside the West that supported the invasion of Iraq not being concerned about Russia invading Ukraine. From a distance it’s just the same old shit.
And we didn’t give a fuck about Syria because Muslim brown people.
