And Rene Richards was her tennis coach back in the day. Not that Richards doesnât have some problematic opinions. Though she did more for queer rights than Martina did. And she knows that Richards never won tournaments as a woman. Especially because she beat Richards in a mixed doubles tournament.
Neither of them is a Billie Jean King as far as queer rights goes. Eltonâs Philadelphia Freedom was about King coming out.

If rape were about sexual attraction, it would make more sense to ban lesbians from women-only spaces. Since rape is about power, it seems best to ban conservative politicians and TERs from women-only spaces. Hey, man, itâs only logical.

âExtra raped womenâ means âraped women who would not have been normallyâ, where normal is presumed to be a society that is identical but does not have trans people. You know, somehow. Itâs reframing their bigotry as the default and reality as an abberation.
(And never mind that if it could be defined, the extra is probably negative â enforced gender roles donât help protect women at all.)

Because their entire understanding of morality is centered around contagion, based on inchoate feelings of disgust and revulsion, and extrapolating to evil == filth, and by contrast, purity == good. Only because itâs based on unexamined feelings rather than anything conscious, they keep ramping up what âpurityâ means when it turns out that it doesnât salve their feelings of disgust, and nothing ever seems to be âpureâ enough.
