Too much work with Windows, perhaps?
Well, actually⌠it is âWho run Barter Town?â
People always get that quote wrong, even on t-shirts.
âMy girlfriend sucked 37 dicks!!â
âIn a row?â
I love Clerks.
You spelled âawfulâ wrong. Not a single laugh or even a smile from me during the entire trailer- itâs boring, played-out, typical comedy fare with no cleverness or originality whatsoever. The actresses seem great, and I love the look of the costumes and sets, but it looks like this one will be a dud thanks to lazy writing. As others have said, the black woman being a âOh HELL nawâ stereotype really sours any hope, and the possession joke is just pathetic. I really hope this is just a bad trailer and it turns out okay, but I wonât be seeing it unless a trusted friend personally recommends it.
Smith has done some great films, I have to say. Clerks is just full of great dialogue, which is his strength, for sure. Clerks was greate because it was driven by dialogue, I think.
I love that sceneâŚ
This might be my White talking, but Iâm prepared to wait and see the movie. The trailer did make her look pretty token-y, and if thatâs what happens in the full-length film, thatâll blow. But a few seconds in a trailer isnât enough for me to make up my mind about it, personally.
Totally understandable for others to have other reactions.
I AM A MADA FUCKIN RAGULAR!!! WHERE ARE MY LIKES!!! Ok, ok⌠ok. Sorry about that I had to get that off my chest. I want to like your comment because that scene is legitimately one of my favorite in movie history, you just made me want to go re-watch chasing amy. What is this topic about again? Ooooh rightâŚ
Since I canât give you a like, have a set of female ghostbusters action figures.
FTFY!
Oh! Wonât somebody do something about that? Poor Naugas getting slaughteredâŚ
Iâm sure sheâs contractually obligated otherwise.
I thought it would be great if the original team got killed by some awesome paranormal entity, and were still haunting their original fire station in the new movie. Giving Bill Murray complete freedom to be arsehole ghost might have persuaded him to be involved.
I think itâs going to be fun. Just from this little trailer itâs already apparent the cast has good chemistry. And if it leads some kids to seek out the original film eventually, all the better.
Iâve seen Murray in lots of things without Ramis and he had no problem being the funniest man in the room. On the other hand, Iâve seen Ramis in several roles where his writing is what carried the scene rather than his comedic talent.
Friends of mine have already been able to spot a bunch of Chinatown locations in the trailer.
I donât know that Iâm put off, but it definitely raised an eyebrow. I realize theyâre trying to parallel the original team, but itâs a bit much, IMO.
I think people are overestimating the quality/brilliance of the original Ghostbusters. It was a funny movie with special effects. It wasnât the defining moment of our youth or anything like that, it was just a piece of pop culture that some remember fondly.
This will be the same. A funny movie with special effects. (Except itâs also an homage to the original, which, well, Hollywood amirite?) Iâll probably enjoy it and it wonât change my whole world any more or less than the original did.
(Though I am disappointed in the sassy streetwise black lady trope, I do know a couple of women exactly like that, so⌠eh.)
