The one thing a man should never say to a woman in bed

And now we’ve devolved completely into two (almost certainly) middle class people from first world countries complaining about how hard it is to be their respective genders.

Sigh. I feel so, so sorry for both of you. How hard your lives must be.

That’s the irony of using Hillary as a symbol. Oh I’m sure she’s been upset about stuff, but she’s still in the top 0.05%

“Patient” implies there’s a goal. I’d say “compulsive.”

Oh, yes, absolutely, you’re so right. I, think I just need to, rest my neck a little…

Can’t forget such classics as the various Rapes of The Sabine Women;

“Oh how beautiful, these classical paintings and sculptures about rape.”

Indeed.

This is the first thread where this has happened to me. I swear.

This sort of off topic, but I’m reading social psychology about the strong social taboos about commenting on group processes.

This is a huge thing in business. Suppose there is the “Redstone Project.” Chuck wants to kill Redstone so he can pilfer the budget. Chuck can go into a meeting and spew derogatory bullshit about Redstone for 20 minutes straight, but there is a social taboo against anyone saying “Yeah, but you just want the budget, Chuck.” If someone dared to say that, there would be a commotion. That’s a social taboo which distorts nearly every human endeavor as people play it to gain the advantage.

I’d say that’s a piece of decontextualized bullshit. When I was on the town board, it was routine to interrupt someone’s eloquent ploy and shovel a giant turd back in their face to get down to the real issue.

That is an excellent topic for a different thread. And that would be a thread I would like to participate in.

Art would have been a lot less rapey if we had simply embraced erotic art instead of using the pretext of portraying violent historical events. The Japanese had their “pillow books” of erotica, and they seem to have had correspondingly less rape in their art.

This one isn’t about the rape of the Sabine women. It is set up as an episode after called the intervention of the Sabine women where they are trying to stop bloodshed. A this point, all the Sabines have already been “abducted” and they are trying to stop the killing.
