Indeed. I’d think that at some point, the amount of gas spent idling, and the time spent waiting, could outweigh the food’s value.

ETA: Volunteers placed two boxes of varied foodstuffs in my honey’s vehicle. Four bags of frozen fish sticks, two gigantic industrial tubs of cream cheese, 3 sm bottles of apple cider vinegar, a gallon of vinegar, a gal of 2% milk, 3 big bags of big potatoes, oranges, an Entenmann’s cake & sm doughnuts, 3 punnets of lovely little yellow grape tomatoes, 3 boxes of chicken broth, a container of someone’s homemade chili, etc…a buncha stuff.
He was there for an hour, from arrival to departure.

Yep. And, unless they have the funds to build these into every classroom, I guess the assumption is that they’d be trying to get all students and staff from where they are to the one room with this shield during an active shooter incident?

And to top the shit cake, Cullman is susceptible to serious tornadoes (FIL lives about 1.5 hours away from this I-65 exit). An EF4 ripped through just shy of a year ago. This thing creates a cute little box for tornadoes to suck kids right out of the building. You know, since it doesn’t have a ceiling. Oh, and a great way for a psychopath to kill all the kids within if they only have moxie enough to get up into the drop ceiling.
