My favorite comment on the news item: âDid someone let the kid out of the trunk, or did they keep them in there waiting for the ice to thicken?â
The U.S. just had its hottest winter on record

The new xmas tree:
Yeah, the USDA just acknowledged this, moving us here in the Shenandoah Valley to zone 7, basically NC level winters, although we have known this for a while. I am able to grow figs and citrus in my orchard, which on the one hand is pretty cool. On the other is fucking terrifying. I donât know where it goes from here, the forecasts I have seen says we in the valley will be sheltered from most of the worst of it for a while, but it is getting pretty damned scary. We donât have to wait until 2100, or even 2050 to see things go to hell. Itâs happening right now if these asshats would just open their eyes.
Constitution, schmonstitution. Who cares what some old, dead white guys said? Amirite? (When itâs convenient, anyway.)
OMG, this is unbelievable. Only 4 years in and theyâre already abandoning any decency:
An award named after Ruth Bader Ginsburg has gone to a slate of accomplished women since it was launched four years ago to honor the legacy of the late Supreme Court justice known for championing womenâs rights and liberal causes. This year is different.
Next month, the Dwight D. Opperman Foundation will present the Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg Leadership Award to four men and Martha Stewart. Among the winners are two convicted felons, the founder of right-wing Fox News, and Elon Musk.
Stewart, Musk, Rupert Murdoch, Michael Milken and Sylvester Stallone are the five âiconicâ and âexceptionalâ recipients of the 2024 RBG Leadership Award, the organizing foundation said in a news release on Wednesday.
This is peak level WTF.
Okay, Martha Stewart fits. As far as a I know, RBG was in favour of rehabilitating convinced felons.
Stallone I can let slide: he made a couple of films I quite enjoyed, I like his paintings and he doesnât seem to be a toxic muppet.
But Murdoch, Musk and Milken? What was the rationale behind that? âOh no, we forgot to give Henry Kissinger one, quick lets find some other worthies before itâs too lateâ?
âThis recognition not only reflects my journey in the media and publishing industry but also represents the relentless defense of civil liberties and a commitment to civil discourse that Justice Ginsburg embodied,â Murdoch said in a statement included in the foundationâs announcement.
Murdoch did not react to Irony being shot in both kneecaps then garroted by his goons, less than five feet behind him, while he was giving his statement.
Power authorities in Virginia are in the early stages of planning an electicial generation plant, powered by Bader Ginsburgâs spinning corpse.
