This winter's "Mary Poppins Returns" starring Emily Blunt just released official trailer

Well, just to drop this here.

In the books. There are two dogs who are characters. “Andrew” and “Willoughby”
Andrew is a pampered dog owned by “Mrs Lark” next door to the Banks family.
Willoughby is a street smart mutt. Andrew doesn’t like being pampered, dressed in sweaters, and dealing with Mrs Lark preventing him from associating with Willoughby (the mutt)…when they’re on walks or through the fence.

Andrew runs away with Willoughby when he got the chance…Poppins finds him and talks to him. And eventually lays down the requirements of Andrew coming back to live with Mrs Lark…he must have Willoughby move in too.
Mrs Lark first says Willoughby could sleep in the basement but Andrew would have none of it, until Mrs Lark agreed to let Andrew and his friend share a bed in her room and be treated equally.
Poppins brokered he deal with her superpower of Animal Speech.
In the movie…Andrew briefly appears as the one that brought news that “Uncle Albert” needed Mary’s help.
