Feels great to be able to post some positive news again.
The Idaho anti-trans bill was killed in the state Senate. The Republican state senators still hate trans people thoughâŠ
A statement released on Tuesday from the Idaho Senate Majority Caucus did reiterate that the party âstrongly opposes any and all gender reassignment and surgical manipulation of the natural sex of minorsâ
They just didnât want to be hypocrites or accidentally ban procedures for cis childrenâŠ
admitted that the bill âundermines parental rights and allows the government to interfere in parentsâ medical decision-making authority for their children.â
âThe billâs language in its current form could be interpreted to extend into the realm of medically necessary care for kids that is in no way related to transgender therapy,â
âThe bill worked to carve out this area of care, unfortunately it falls short by limiting it to verifiable genetic disorders. Since many of these acute medical conditions cannot always be verified as a genetic disorder or done so in a timely manner, the proposal has unintended consequences.â
Did the right thing for all the wrong reasons, but for the moment, itâs a win. In the current environment, I will take a win.
yeahâŠdefinitely in the win column.
While this should never have happened, I hope the good doctor not only finds the answer to the closure of this clinic but gets some legal precedent to protect health care access for transgender kids
NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth: Doctor That Specializes in Transgender Care Takes Employer to Court.
This was surprising, but good.
Again, doing the right thing, even if for the wrong reasons. We need to be active in the 2022 elections. They will be, thatâs the whole point of all this shit. âVote for me! I am a bigger fascist than the other guy!â
By god heâs being honest though. The pretext for these laws is all based on lies and fear mongering propaganda. Republicans need to hear that if any of them can still be reached.
Hell yes. These laws should never be proposed, much less reach a governors desk
State Sen. Sarah McBride of Delaware.
Interesting story today. Had a visit with one of my long time patients, and after the usual âhow are you doing, any questions, exam normal, etc.â stuff, as we wrap up, the mom says âThere was one more thingâŠâ Child is trans and wants to know what resources are available. So I ask the patient about pronouns, name, etc. Not interested in different name, would like different pronouns, not sure where they actually are. So I gave a rendition of my âClouds and Boxesâ analogy, at the end of which mom starts crying and says âWe were so afraid to bring this up. We didnât know how you would respond.â I cannot imagine what it is like to have to be so careful in guarding who you are from public view. They have watched what is happening in TX and other red states and are scared to death, understandably. But, damn, people, this is just s kid, trying to figure out who they are. If you think making that criminal is OK, you really are a monster.
Cause of course the site didnât fail because it was spewing hateful bullshit.
This is petty, but I hope the founders lost a lot of money
