My business model is that I will focus on news about how a very, very small minority of a small demographic hates a smaller portion of that small demographic.
Profit.

How long until fascist shit stirrers lose their collective mind (singular) over the “imposition of the gay agenda” or “something something grooming” over this?
True. They should probably provide another pronoun pin option - asshole.
That all said - I hope they’re not requiring people to wear them.
I’m gonna guess not very long at all. I also wonder how long before one of those ‘fine’ folks gets their ass kicked off the plane for being shitty about pronouns. Preferably with a lifetime ban to boot.
I am going to take advantage of the number of trans mutants we have here to ask a question. Anyone with experience in using spironolactone as a testosterone inhibitor? I mean, I have the readings and reports, but from a lived experience basis?
Sorry, I’m on Decapeptyl. 11mg shot every 12 weeks. Does the same job but I have no evidence of how it compares.
Oral administration is a distinct advantage, cost is definitely an advantage (in the US, anyway.) It’s not without side effects, and I am just wondering how it actually hits folks. I hate experimenting on my kids without some experience.
I’m on Spiro.
My guess is a US Mutant will know more as spiro and progesterone tend to be prescribed more over there and very rarely, if ever, over here.
Working as intended? Unacceptable side effects? I guess most importantly, is it actually doing anything? I am concerned that with the very mild t-blocking effect, it may be more hype than reality. But over here, it is the most easily accessible t-blocker and I am seeing more and more trans women on it, and when I get questions, all I can turn to is literature. Which does, of course, have a place, but so does lived experience.
It is working as intended, taking 100mg 2x daily. My T was down to 3 ng/dL at my last checkup and the Spiro dosage will likely be lowered once I get my E levels up. I haven’t noticed any unacceptable side effects, but I have read many anecdotes from trans women who have.
Yes. A few decades ago. I was also just switched onto it now as I was having a reaction to my BP med. There’s been no T to suppress for quite some time.
I can’t say definitively how effective it was as blood tests weren’t done back then. It was difficult enough just to find a physician! My memory is that it was effective- there were no side effects for me at all. It’s cheap, it’s available and it’s been used for decades for suppressing T.
And now they do testing; so you’ll know how effective it is.
According to the report, nearly three quarters (72%) of a large sample of surveyed American adults indicated their support for trans rights, and believed that trans people should be able to live without “violence and discrimination.”
A similarly high percentage (66%) agreed that trans people should have access to gender-affirming healthcare.
That’s good to see, but what’s up with the 6% who support trans people but not access to gender affirming healthcare?
But these rates of support dropped dramatically when it came to adults who generally consumed right-leaning news and media sources
Of adults who consumed no right-wing media sources on a regular basis, a majority (58%) agreed that “transgender people seek equal treatment under the law.” But when it came to adults who only consumed right-wing media sources, only 31% believed the same statement.
The power of fascist propaganda on full display.
Perhaps most troublingly, a majority of those who only consumed right-wing media — 51% — agreed with the statement that “we would better serve transgender people by helping them to live as the sex they were born”
This should not be taken lightly, given the chance, they will make transitioning illegal.
“The data shows that the media must be more inclusive of members of the transgender and nonbinary [community] to assist in the development of positive and open-minded opinions for audiences everywhere, especially the large number of people who know nothing about trans people and their lives,” Brown added.
I know right-wing media is a lost cause, but hopefully the rest of the media will step up its inclusivity…they could maybe actually talk to trans people when they do stories on us. Overall, I am happy to know that support for trans people remains high.
Hannah and Jake Graf aren’t the UK’s first trans parents, nor will they be the last – and they want to show those who come after them that you can be trans and happy.
