The same Christian Nationalists objecting to Easter landing on International Transgender Day of Visibility, probably also gave their kids a bunch of Easter āeggsā.
Oh my!
Check with a scholar of Roman Magna Mater cults, but those eggs do seem to represent the āfruitsā of Attis. Also, the Britannica article might have pronoun trouble, because in some versions, Attis was resurrected as a woman.
Theyāre protesting that their stolen religious festival, involving a trans-resurrection, landed on the same day as International Transgender Day of Visibility?
āHave a nice day, and enjoy your chocolate balls!ā
That episode was one of my favoritesā¦ I loved all the Jesusesā¦ Jesiā¦ Jesuspodes (@anon87143080?)
Apparently Iāve been remiss in not watching this show!
It ends on a major cliff hanger, just FYIā¦ like, they canceled season 3 on the major hinge point of the book and showā¦
But Mad Sweeney was worth itā¦
Easter next year is on April 20th. I wonder if there will be the same level of outrage?
Itās not a national holiday anymore where Iām from.
How dare they hold it on Freedom Day in Malta!
Itās 4/20.
ETA: I just woke up. Iām half asleep. I just registered what you meant.
For anyone who grew up watching Nickelodeon the Nick Knacks channel is a treasure trove of information and insight. The āSample Plattersā briefly look at single episodes and this one is especially interesting.
ETA: What makes it interesting is it focuses on the 2002 episode āThe Boy Who Would Be Queenā which, unlike most other Fairly Oddparents episodes, has a surprisingly progressive take on the social construction of gender, while also revealing how much weāve gone backward.
I thought that said Adam Levine at first, lol.
Thought it would be just me!
thirdedā¦ until I looked at the pic and saw that it was Admiral Rachel Levine! Sheās awesome-sauce!
fourthedā¦
Yeah, this was my brain:
Adam Levine? Cool. Waitā¦āWe continue to live a life of joyā¦ā Huh?
looks at picture
Ohhhhhhā¦Admiral Levine. God, Iām stupid.
