Yup. Just imagine him as the angry little chihuahua up against the actual big and strong dog, who doesn’t quite know how to deal with such an aggro little nutbag. Works for most of them most of the time. Occasionally one runs into a big dog that’s not so confused and demotivated to fight. Then it gets really ugly for the little orange tiny handed dog… I mean “chihuahua”.

Trump is now saying that he didn’t ask Comey to drop the investigation and demand loyalty. I mean, I can’t believe anyone would be credulous enough to believe Trump on these points, except, apparently, his hard-core supporters who inexplicably still think he fired Comey over the Clinton email investigation.

That keeps getting said, but I don’t think it’s true.
Putin doesn’t just support random chaos monkeys, regardless of ideology; he specifically supports the extreme right. Farage, Le Pen, Trump, etc.
The left gets a bit of support from RT etc, but the serious propaganda/espionage push seems focussed on promoting the far right.

The support RT gives the left is generally the type that erodes confidence in the electoral process in general and the neoliberal opposition in general. It is done with a specific objective in mind.

Yup.
I’m not saying that Putin has no interest in discrediting democratic institutions. But I don’t think that it is the entire goal; there appears to be a significant effort to specifically promote the extreme right.
