Donnie could take a dump on the flag and they’d find a way to justify it. By their own subconscious logic they can’t be “unpatriotic”, only minorities and commie liberals are guilty of that.

Well since it was his divine destiny to “lead” our nation I’m sure he considers it to be his theme song, he probably has it play in the background when he’s taking a dump. Respect is something people give TO him, not something he gives back.

Honestly if I were white house staff I wouldn’t make even the slightest effort to protect Trump from anything. Even if I supported Trump. If I ask someone not to film something and a video of them filming something gets out then I’m going to be to blame. If I “don’t notice” then unless I was specifically assigned or told to notice I haven’t singled myself out.

Dershowitz made an argument in the impeachment “trial” that if the shoe were on the other foot, and a Democrat had done what Trump did, there would be no impeachment.
I doubt it.
From what I’ve witnessed arguing with conservatives, all their talking points originate with Fox News and talk radio. They toe the party line which is provided electronically every day. So Obama does something, and a strategist somewhere comes up with an argument to prove what he did was bad, and it gets disseminated. Similarly Trump can do something obviously bad and they will disseminate talking points to defend it.
There are no “death panels” or “Obama Youth Squads”, there never were. The “Trump Economy” they rave about is just an extension of the Obama economy that Trump inherited. Obama wearing a tan suit to a press conference is un-presidential, but Trump having a twitter feud with a child or celebrity is A-OK. Obama golfed too much, but Trump doesn’t, despite what the numbers might prove.
Basically everything conservatives spout is a willful twisting of reality to justify what they prefer to believe.
