Trump doesn't trust Secret Service to keep him safe

We better not have to pay for any walls around Mar-A-Lago.

Any reason, is my guess. I suspect the two found things are pea-sized.

True. It’s a defense mechanism called projection in psychology, that is, denying oneself behaviors and projecting them into others. For example, a thief would be suspicious of anyone surrounding him for fears of being deceived, although he is the only thief around.

Taking bets that wall isn’t coming down after the election.

If he refuses to leave do we padlock the gates and keep him under White House arrest?

That’s a good point. It’s just an ordinary temporary chain link fence by the looks of it. And it must have a gate, because people have to come and go from the White House. Seems like a bunch of bike locks would be a hindrance to the functionality of those gates.

How about Extraordinary Rendition, does that work for you? We could say he was out golfing and got lost in the rough.

Especially considering its status as a bedbug conservation site.

Maybe not:

Looks like he decided not to come out of his hidey hole after all. Maybe going to spend time in a different kind of bunker?

Perhaps the Russians can send over the Chernobyl dome plans

People used to be able to walk down Downing Street past the British prime ministers house, then Maggie put gates at the end. They didn’t come down after the Good Friday Agreement.

It is still technically a Right of Way, but the cops won’t let anyone through unless they are invited.

To be fair, you still can’t drive down the block of the Obama house (which they’d barely lived in when they moved to the White House, and never moved back to) from one side, and on the other side only if you actually live or have reason to visit someone on that block.

I’m sure it’s as much to protect neighbors from bomb threats as anything.

It’s only Thursday.

They are indeed putting up jersey barriers behind the fence, as the photo I took of the South Lawn can attest.

And it’s not just the White House, pretty much all of Lafayette Square (on the left) is now fenced off too:

I’ve a friend who lives a couple of blocks from there. Big PITA.

That opening was great and that scene, particularly poignant.

What do you do when you’re the least popular President in modern history, with the highest disapproval rating since they started keeping records? You do everything you possibly can to keep the public as far away as possible.

It’ll be interesting to see what kinds of gyrations the Secret Service will go through when Trump starts having his mass rallies again. Will they start doing strip searches on all of the MAGA attendees?

I want to see another survey of presidents, there hasn’t been one in over a year. I’m interested in seeing how far Trump is below everyone else. Has there ever been a president who has been this incompetent in a time of crisis?
