Evidently the Tangerine Shiatgibbon was too much of a coward to even fire people on the show. He did the “you’re fired” thing to an empty room and the reactions were spliced in.
And as someone already said, Henry Kissinger is the obvious front-runner for the job.
Yeah, though it’s hard to separate the two. He’s had more than one member of his administration put their case to the press and then get rid of them when the response was negative, apparently being driven by the media consensus. But it’s hard to know what’s going on when there’s extended negativity towards someone - whether Trump is just concerned about looking bad, or if he’s just wanting to be the childish disruptor himself, essentially saying, “Hey, drawing negative attention from the press is my job!”
I suspect that Bolton was too principled to hang on to the job.
Sure, his principles largely boiled down to “PNAC; if given a Warhammer 40k makeover”; but he has them.
When you don’t even grasp the concept of things larger than yourself, much less believe in their existence, it’s going to be hard to remain on good terms with a minion whose ultimate loyalty is to a transcendent American empire built on an eternity of fire and blood.
