Trump found GUILTY on all counts in hush money trial

Idiot. NY contributes more in taxes than it receives.

Isn’t New York a plus state that pays more in federal taxes than it receives in programs?

In her last newsletter, Heather Cox Richardson pointed out that we have no real reason to believe the campaign on that… :woman_shrugging:

yeah, how’d that work out for Gerald Ford?

This is still one of my all time favorite headlines in all of history…

Just us fine folks in the metro, of course. Any “Democrat” county, obviously… not her district, half of which is in the metro…

Sorry, but I want Trump to be a martyr. A proper martyr even, not just this might-face-some-jail-for-breaking-the-law-all-the-time kind. I want him to join the Confederacy and Adolf Hitler and Supreme Gentleman Some Asshole in the long list of losers that new white supremacists cry over before they end up on the same scrap heap. People keep trying going easy on them at it never helps. Grind him into dust to blow into their eyes instead.

Going lightly because the MAGAs might get mad is a bonehead maneuver. The MAGAs are already mad, and will find an excuse to do what they’ll do no matter what. Sacrificing the rule of law because angry people might get angry is stupid appeasement, like giving Hitler another slice to keep him happy, evidence that their actions have no consequences.

I’d love to see someone make a version of this video but with Trump’s face in place of Joffrey’s. [Yes, this is the 10 hour version.] Hmm, time to go experiment with generative AI perhaps?

The character of Tyrion wouldn’t put up with Trump’s bullshit any more than he put up with Joffrey’s.

honestly, if that’s the take away by the conservative set: that’s not too bad. it probably shouldn’t be illegal to pay for sex, but the idea he did will definitely turn off some of the voters on the right. ( and the implication he has to pay for sex won’t help his “masculine” image either )

a lot of coverage has mentioned this is his “first conviction” so jail time might not apply. but it’s really not true considering both his civil fraud, and his rape and defamation cases. ( not to mention double impeachments. )

i’m still suspecting house arrest because of who he is. but absolutely no time served would be pretty surprising to me based on his criminal history, his violations of the gag order, his calls for violence, and his utter lack of remorse.

Yeah. You know who also received a hefty prison sentence for his first conviction, which was also a “nonviolent” financial crime? Al Capone.

It would also be a true miscarriage of justice, considering he was the ringleader and his subordinates in the conspiracy received prison time.

A law thoroughly ratfucked by DiSantis as to be meaningless. In many cases fines and some measure of arbitrary restitution is tacked on when the state considers reinstating voting rights.

Why the hell is he so obsessed with Capone, anyhow? I’m guessing it’s because he likes and admires gangsters, is why… Same reason he recently shared a stage with that rapper who has been accused of being in a gang (who I didn’t know about, so I can’t remember his name)… I’m surprised he hasn’t done a whole rant on the other big case in Fulton, the Young Thug/YSL case, trying to make common cause because it’s both under Willis.

As President, Trump will fly on a diplomatic passport granting entry to more or less any foreign country he wants to visit as head of state.

As President, whether he can go to a country will ultimately be decided by the government of that country. Because of the security requirements for Presidential travel – the motorcade, the armed Secret Service agents, etc. – the President cannot visit any foreign country without the full co-operation of its government.
