I’m waiting for the “I’m the very best felon! I have more felony convictions than Jeffrey Dahmer! My rap sheet is HUUGE!”
Yaaaay! Congratulations! The hits just keep coming.
Oh, yes. I so want to see him serve time in Rikers. He may act all tough and put on a front like he wants to go to jail to prove a point, but I have a feeling that even in protective custody with a secret service detail he wouldn’t feel the slightest bit safe.
I’m trying to temper my expectations here and revel in the joy that there will finally be some justice dealt out to this mother fucking clown – even if it’s something like 5 years probation and a hefty fine.
One thing I’m loving is his sentence will be given just a few days before the RNC. Imagine him being in jail, or having to get permission from his PO to be able to go there? I giggle at the thought.
… along with pissing off the judge who is now in control of how long the sentence is and what other punishments are due.
Considering trump was almost tossed into jail during the trial for contempt of court? I would not expect any good behavior from the Orange Mango.
And we’ve all seen how trump treats the court.
He’d be freaked out about germs and about the prison food.
The judge should give him 5 days in state prison on each count, consecutively. Remanded into custody immediately upon sentencing.
Picture this though. At the sentencing the defendent is going to be asked if he wants to make a statement.
Now… do you think Trump can get through that without worsening his plight?
I pretty much picture Roger Rabbit when 5 bars of Shave and a Haircut have been knocked out on the closed door he’s behind.
Let’s see how Republicans balance trying to be the “party of law and order” while at the same time saying that Trump’s conviction is bogus because reasons.
“The trial was rigged!” So you don’t believe in the justice system?
“The jury was biased!” So you don’t believe in the justice system?
“So unfair!” So you don’t believe in the justice system?
“Two tiered justice system!” This is true, except normally the rich white guy has the advantage here. I guess it didnt’ work out so well this time.
“It was a political prosecution!” Last I heard if you guys win again you want to prosecute Joe Biden for… something?
“Selective prosecution!” Newsflash: all prosecution is selective.
“Biden’s DOJ convicted Trump!” Cool story given it was a state matter. And I thought you guys loved States’ Rights?
“He couldn’t get a fair trial because it was held in Manhattan!” Well, maybe he shouldn’t have commited his crimes in Manhattan?
May as well drop this here. RAWSTORY report. So universally guilty:
A producer who helped Donald Trump become a reality TV star back in 2008 says the former president was in no way ready for prime time due to his [inability to form a coherent sentence.
Now free from an expired non-disclosure agreement (NDA) he signed, former “The Apprentice” producer Bill Pruitt is coming clean about what he saw after being introduced to Trump whom he helped move from New York real estate developer to reality TV star.
In a tell-all for Slate, Pruitt detailed Trump’s off-hand racism and demeaning treatment of women on the set — including ordering a female camera operator off the set after complaining "she’s too heavy” — before noting that he struggled to remember anyone’s name and was incapable of speaking off the cuff without outside assistance.
Contrasting the often-rambling Trump now seen on the stump as he runs for president a third time with the Trump he knew, Pruitt wrote that back in the day Trump was “overwhelmed” when it came to on-set dialogue.
“Without a doubt, the hardest decisions we faced in postproduction were how to edit together sequences involving Trump. We needed him to sound sharp, dignified, and clear on what he was looking for and not as if he was yelling at people,” he wrote before adding, “While filming, he struggled to convey even the most basic items. But as he became more comfortable with filming, Trump made raucous comments he found funny or amusing—some of them misogynistic as well as racist. We cut those comments. Go to one of his rallies today and you can hear many of them.”
Despite the editing, Pruitt acknowledged, it is easy to hear today “you will notice clearly altered dialogue from Trump in both the task delivery and the boardroom.”
As he explained, “Trump was overwhelmed with remembering the contestants’ names, the way they would ride the elevator back upstairs or down to the street, the mechanics of what he needed to convey. [Showrunner Jay] Bienstock instigated additional dialogue recording that came late in the edit phase. We set Trump up in the soundproof boardroom set and fed him lines he would read into a microphone with Bienstock on the phone, directing from L.A. And suddenly Trump knows the names of every one of the contestants and says them while the camera cuts to each of their faces.”
“Listen now, and he speaks directly to what needs to happen while the camera conveniently cuts away to the contestants, who are listening and nodding. He sounds articulate and concise through some editing sleight of hand,” he added.
Felonious Trump
I couldn’t sleep (jet lag), and now I don’t know if I’ll be too pumped to sleep, or if knowing justice is finally starting to happen will enable me to sleep like a log.
And I know that this is an almost-universally shared feeling. We are all one tonight, feeling relieved that our systems do work after all. Grinding slowly, but definitely grinding us forward.
I wonder what kind of flag Justice Alito is flying today?
I think we’ve probably got that whole thing backwards with the conviction thing. It’s ridiculous that you can’t vote, but you can run.
But sadly, he died in 2020…
Hopefully she’s mad too…
Michael Cohen will be on MSNBC in a minute.
Bet he’ll be smiling.
